Went in today and they were just putting out the new Happy Birthday to Me - $5.00, and the tin cover two disc Texas Chainsaw Massacre - $5.00. Amazing deals right now! Looked like slots for many other titles at $5.00 too.

Was that the Dark Sky version of TCM or the remake?

Probably the Dark Sky version. Ever since this came out on Blu Ray you can hardly give this tin standard version away.

They had a lot of good stuff at Wal-Mart:

    Happy Birthday To Me
    Windchill
    I Know Who Killed Me
    Amityville Horror: Original and Remake
Halloween 4 and Halloween 5 Divimax Double Feature
Horror 4 film feature: Mourtuary(hooper) ,Salvage, and two other echo bridge movies.

All for $5 dollars. This is all that I can remember off the top of my head.

They also had MGM Midnite Movie double feature DVDs, chiefly Tales From The Crypt/Vault of Horror and some others I didn't care about: the ones with Morons From Outer Space, Invaders From Mars, Land That Time Forgot, yadda yadda.

    For Canadians...

I went into Walmart today. They had a bunch of MGM dvds with lenticular covers (Amityville 1-3, Child's Play, Howling), Halloween and H20, Invisible Man and Creature from the Black Lagoon Legacy Collections, Evil Dead Ultimate Edition, Evil Dead II, all the Omen movies, House of the Damned, Night Watch, Don't Look Now... and a bunch more I can't remember. A much better selection than I expected.

Do you remember how much the Legacy Collections and Evil Dead Ultimate Collection was?

Legacy Collections were $8.85 each and Evil Dead UC was $20, I believe. I did see Evil Dead Ultimate Collection for $9.99 at Blockbuster tonight.

Don't buy horror movies - or anything else for that matter - at Walmart. They're bankrupt in the social responsibility department.

I got the Mummy and Creature Legacy Collections for $8.88 (couldn't find the Invisible Man one), then Don't Look Now, Tales from the Darkside (movie) and the Dead Zone SE for five bucks each.

There's definitely some good stuff going on at Walmart this year. Last year sucked, so I'm pretty happy I got some stuff I've been meaning to get. Anyone remember in 2007 when Canadian Walmarts were doing the Dracula, Wolfman and Frankenstein Legacy Collections for like nine bucks? It's cool that I was able to grab a couple more.

Also, the Frankenstein, Wolfman and Dracula sets were there as well. There's also a ton of other stuff, so I'd say go check out Walmart if you're in Canada.

I'm not a big Walmart fan either but they had all the Friday SEs for 9 bucks and I haven't been able to find 7 til then.

I picked up Happy Birthday to Me at Walmart for 5 bucks. This wasn't on an end cap however, it was within the movie racks. Right above it was a small sign that said "$5 Movies". So if you guys are having trouble, you might want to scan the racks themselves just in case.

Damn I haven't been able to find any of those Legacy sets at any of the Walmarts here in Hamilton. Anyone in Canada able to find Happy Birthday to Me for $5 or any price for that matter?

I checked out another Walmart here in town and found the Invisible Man collection there, so now I've managed to collect the entire series. Not bad considering I got them all at Walmart Halloween sales in 2007 and 2009 for about 8 or 9 bucks a pop.

Finally, my Walmart put out the goods. They had a TON of $5 movies:

    I bought:

    Happy Birthday to Me (re-issued)
    Wind Chill
    Halloween 4/Halloween 5 (2 disc set)
    Alive or Dead
    Prey
    Driving Miss Daisy
    Maverick
    Elizabeth

plus two Blu-Ray: Midnight Movie and Evil Dead II - $10 each.

I looked everywhere for the Legacy sets but couldn't find any.

I also spoke with a distributor who was putting out dvds and she told me that Walmart is cutting back on their Blu-Ray selection. She said that overall, at least through Walmart, they are not selling as well as expected. This seems to be bucking the trend of Target and Best Buy who continue to expand their Blu-Ray sections. Go figure.
