Yah! $14 for studio authorized bootleg DVD-Rs of films that would be in the $5 bin at Wal-Mart had they been batches of pressed discs. I appreciate the effort Warner has taken to make these films available, but I just can't get excited about DVD-Rs at these prices.

Well, I just bought a DVD-R bootleg of William Castle's "Macabre" last year and now Warner Archives has released it, remastered apparently. I'll wait to see if the price drops before double-dipping. But I guess this means no William Castle Film Collection Volume 2. :(

BTW, they have a very odd criterion for what constitutes a "Halloween" title. "Carny"? "Nutcracker: Money Madness Murder"?

Too bad I already picked up the ones I was interested in (Razorback, The Bermuda Depths, Bad Ronald, Don't Be Afraid of the Dark, From Hell it Came). I'd like to pick up the Green Slime but it's not one of the sale items and I'm not paying $25 for a DVD-r!

Not only that but it's only available to U.S. residents which doesn't work for people like me.

This is going on again this year, for anyone who cares. Now through the 31st.

    God help me, I'm tempted....

And of course Night School isn't part of the sale.

 That was exactly what I was going to post!

And on the last sale they had (5 for $50), of course Killer Party wasn't included.

 Well, we both now how important that is!

I'm contemplating Killer Party and maybe The Pack.

Phantom Tollboth is tempting. But I definitely can't pay that much for a DV-R, especially when there are enough legitimate blu-rays and DVDs to catch up on.

I just bought KILLER PARTY from Standing Ovation market seller on Amazon last week for $13.60. Was a great deal, considering. Just recieved it a couple days ago. Now Amazon have none available, I'm very happy I caught that when I did.

Yeah seriously, in Canada (there are a few stores in Toronto that carry Warner Archive titles) these fucking DVD-Rs fetch $32.99 in store. For a DVD-R are you fucking kidding me!!? there are a few rental places where I just burn Archive titles. Fuck that.

Fuuuuck super drunk. Fuckin bullshit Warner Archive titles!

Yeah, there's a store here in Vancouver that sold The Nesting, Nightmare, Sledgehammer and The Dorm That Dripped Blood. I couldn't believe it. It also had Pretty Girls All In A Row and Crescendo...for 30 and 25 bucks! It was tempting since they were both within direct purchase, but I declined. :(

Warner doesn't want to produce a serious DVD release for these films. Many titles would be questionable big sellers, Warner avoids having large unwanted inventory. So they are indeed saving money. Can't see why they can't sell the archive stuff for like $5 each tops.

Oldies.com has a good selection of Archive titles for $14.99. Last week I got Killer Party and The Pack for a little over $30 shipped. Ya gotta shop around, folks.
