I'm not really loving the timing of this.
I know that rights for these are scattered all over the place, but I really wish they would do box sets that were more tied together thematically, like all of the Dracula or Frankenstein films in one set. Still, always happy to have more Hammer in Blu
As a lifelong, ardent Hammer fan who is really happy to hear of these releases, I still must agree with you-seems a tad opportunistic if not exploitative.
I must agree here too.
A box containing all the Dracula efforts (including Brides), Frankenstein (including Horror of) and even a Karnstein trilogy would be a day one buy for me.
Taste the Blood of Dracula and The Mummy are two of my favorite Hammer movies.
So yeah buying this.
'Has Risen' is one of my top 10 horror films ever so this is a strong contender for a day one purchase, hope there will be extras and improved transfers.
I'd be happier if they'd finally release Horror of Dracula stateside in the proper aspect ratio. Same with The Mummy. I'll wait for the reviews.
I'm very happy with this titles in this set. Just hope they do a good job on the transfers.
Considering Warner is announcing this without a release date or specifications just reeks of exploitation. Warner's usually hush-hush about their releases, even understating releases that the Warner European branch already announced, until they have the details ready. Also considering the fact that a boxset was in the works leak out already it's not much of a surprise.
But fuck it I'm buying it anyways.
Disappointing. Would love to see single releases of each title or a themed Dracula or Mummy or Frankenstein boxset. This mix is just
id just like a single release of Taste the Blood of Dracula!
I've purchased some of the individual UK Hammer Blu-ray releases, but none of these films yet. Not a fan of the book style packaging with this Warner release:
Urgh! I can't stand this steelbook/digibook stuff. Give me plastic anyday!

Pretty sure it's an unfortunate coincidence, and one action did not cause the other.
True, fans that were going to buy this would have bought it irrespective of Mr. Lee's demise.
I don't see an upsurge in interest amongst non fans or casual fans that would warrant a rush job on this.
It's far removed from the Hendrix estate's plundering of Jimi's legacy.
Sorry. Fixed the links.
