Blood test in The Thing. I totally wasnt expecting it to jump out like it did the first time I saw it and I nearly hit the roof. Classic scene.
A friend and I were watching TCM2 at his place a little while back. He had the volume cranked up to an insane level and we were in a fairly small room. When Leatherface popped out, the shock mixed with the EXTREMELY LOUD CHAINSAW made me jump. It may never make me jump again, but it was nice to get caught off guard.
EXORCIST 3! I was watching the film on VHS, having seen it twice on cinema. The scene comes and I almost shit myself. I rewind the scene and watch it again. And again it scares me. I do the same thing again. It gets the same reaction from me everytime!!!!
I voted for the blood test scene in the Thing too, though there are so many. When I was a kid, the final scene in the Drop of Water segment of Black Sabbath sent me running out of the room every time I saw it. One time me and my sister were watching it, and then Bang! The room was empty. And then we crept slowly back into the TV room. Unfortunately, the other two stories in that movie aren't as scary, AIP should have left Drop of Water as the last one.
The internet and WatchMojo completely ruined the Exorcist III scare for me. Though I haven't seen the movie yet. #1. The Thing (1982) - absolutely made me hit the friggin' ceiling when I first saw it. But it never made me jump a second time. #2. The jump scare that has made me jump every single time I watch the movie is... let's just say "the window scene" from Jack Sholder's Alone in the Dark. Never fails.
Jaws was the movie I saw first out of these. I must have been about 7 and that head really made me jump. Parents knew it was going to happen and were waiting to watch me jump!!!
The airvent encounter in Alien scared the shit out of me. I still think that scene is one of the scariest in Alien.
I picked "Queeny" (guess the movie ). That one got us real good! We were all feeling for the characters one moment and then that really odd camera movement and that sound enhanced snarl/growl...loved it! Friday the 13th was a good one, too. That music cue gets me in the gut each time.
