Sweet. I haven't seen this in awhile, so I'll probably pick it up just to watch it again...even though it'll be yet another barebones DVD from Artisan.

I remember very little about this one.

    But it's a slasher, so I'll give it a try. :)

I remember the box from seeing it in the video store. For some reason it didn't look like a slasher movie so I didn't bother looking at it. When was it made?

EDIT: I just checked IMDB and it was made in 1988 and directed by Umberto Lenzi! Well in that case I'll have to check it out. :)

I am if Best Buy gets it in stock. If not I'll most likely order it soon.

Lenzi + American teens + spring break = me laughing. I may have to actually pick this one up.

I got mine from Netflix today, probably wont watch it tonight though. Is this one also called Savage Waters, or is that something else? Just asking because there's a Lenzi slasher called Savage Waters reviewed on the Hysteria site.

    Finally got this today.

30 minutes into it and I like it quite a bit. I'll post a review on my site later this weekend for those interested. If anyone would like to see some screen shots, just let me know.

It's fun late '80s fluff... what I have a hard time believing is... it's from the same Italiano who did Cannibal Ferox!?! Not only is SPRING BREAK infinitely more tame, but really glossy and American-feeling.

Actually, Savage Water is a completely different film. Lenzi didn't direct it. That was a deliberate mistake Justin Kerswell made as a joke. Savage Water is a US film but it was only released in Europe and from what I hear, it's supposed to be the worst slasher flick ever. You can read the review here: http://www.hysteria-lives.co.uk/hysterialives/Hysteria/savage_water.htm

Last time I've watched this film was when it first came out on VHS. I wasn't too fond of it back then, really enjoyed it now. The cheese is pretty tight actually, the death scenes quite 'shocking' and John Saxon spewing out bad lines kinda made me smile. Also loved the corny rock soundtrack. I'd buy the CD if it was available.
Artisan's DVD is rather disappointing though - just a more or less clean but not perfect full screen VHS port. I'll double dip if I can track down that Italian widescreen DVD.
