It's been quite along time since I saw this film. I have the Shriek Show but haven't watched it yet. Will pick up the blu if the aspect ratio is correct.
I'm a fan of the film and remember it being damn entertaining, but I'm due for a re-watch to refresh my memory of the story other than the glorious nudity since it's been about 6 years.
Wow. You've been posting on this movie (DVD releases and such) for nearly 7 years, but still haven't seen it? Is that due to the issues with the existing discs, or just no interest in the movie itself? I never noticed anything off with the Shriek Show DVD in terms of aspect ratio or anything, especially considering it's pretty much just Eurosleaze exploitation. I have to admit though, the more I think about it the more I realize it's a pretty good piece of filmmaking. Considering that it does not (small spoilers ahead) become a rape/revenge flick till well over an hour in, it really does establish the character. Both the good and bad sides of her. So the rape/murder really hits home a lot more since we've gotten to see the main character get over the hump of her emotional troubles. And additionally, we know she has a murderous side, so it's very obvious what's gonna happen to the creeps who rape her (unlike most R/R films where the good girl goes over the edge after the trauma).
The latter I guess. The story never really interested me. The trailer looks meh, but I might check this out someday
If you want a good laugh then this movie will do it. I literally had tears streaming down my face during some scenes. I have to say that I enjoyed the movie but probably for the wrong reason. I might have to pop this one in again soon.
I've had the Blu-ray pre-ordered from Diabolik for a bit now as I'm a huge fan of Werewolf Woman. I just have my fingers crossed this isn't one of Raro's botched transfers... as they are really hit or miss - like 50/50 odds...
I am watching the Raro BD right now. Looks pretty good to me. I think I've only watched the DVD once, so I do not have much to go on, but it definitely looks serviceable. The colors look kind of muted, but it could be the make up as the red of the blood and guts pops nicely. Black levels are rich...not a lot of detail, but close up shots lend a little more to the eye. Pretty crazy movie though...definitely a lot better than I had remembered it being.
How did you get the Raro blu-ray so early? I pre-ordered it last weekend; fingers crossed they are sending them early.

I just watched this and it was terrible. There are two ok scenes and that's it. It tries to be more cerebral than what any werewolf movie should be. Of course, it fails miserably at psycho analyzing a werewolf or whatever they were trying to do. Normally a subtitled horror film is not a big deal because physical action does not need translation. But of course, you literally have to read this film. I may have well just read a translated script because my eyes were buried to the bottom of the screen throughout the whole film.
