Cool news! It's not Craven's finest moment but it's far from the worst either. I'd love for some studio to rescue Chiller from the terrible public domain editions out there.

Really enjoyed the book as a kid but when I saw the movie many years later I wasn’t that into it. That was a while ago though and I wouldn’t mind giving the movie another go in HD.

I already have it on dvd from years ago so I will give it a pass. But that's my only reason why. Sometimes I feel guilty when these little companies blu ray a movie I have had for years on dvd. I Love that they do it but I already bought it legit a long time ago.

I'm pretty sure I've seen this. I can't remember anything about it besides not thinking much of it.

    EDIT: Found it on YouTube:

Skimmed through it and it looks rather dull. Not going to bother watching it through but it's here for whoever's interested :)

Saw a few years back, and it was very forgettable.
Mediocre acting, soap opera elements, and just cheesy as fuck, but sadly not in a good way.
Craven was no Dan Curtis, when it came to TV horror.

Just got mine in the mail from DeepDiscount.

Not sure why, but I get a little giddy whenever made-for-TV horror hits blu-ray. Maybe because it's so rare? I think Doppelganger is a new label, hoping they'll dig up more made-for-TV gems in the near future.

I received the Blu-ray earlier today, and did notice this:

    The Blu-ray's running time is 1:32:37 = 93 Minutes

The old Artisan DVD's running time is 1:38:21 = 98 Minutes

So there are apparently two different cuts of the film that exist.

The Blu-ray apparently does have the old Craven DVD commentary ported over, so that must be edited.

Very interesting, thanks for posting! I haven't had a chance to check out my blu ray yet but it looks like I'll have to hold onto my DVD as well.

Yeah, it's weird. I double checked the running times on both, but I'm not sure what exactly is different yet. But there is definitely a nearly 5 minute difference in the running times between the two releases, and there's no "blank scenes" at the opening/ending of the DVD to account for the time difference.

Both releases display the "PG-13" rating on the back cover, and the MPAA does list the film on their official website, but do not list the running time submitted to them for that rating.

The DVD featured the longer European theatrical cut. Apparently, the new Blu Ray is the original US TV version. The audio commentary is ported over from the DVD, so it must be edited to accomodate the shorter cut.

I thought it was awkwardly funny how everyone keeps encouraging Jeff East's character to hook up with his cousin.

Really fun movie. PQ wasn't what I hoped it would be, especially in comparison to Dark Night Of The Scarecrow, but the price is so low it is definitely worth owning.
