You listed where to start. The box sets for the Universals are cheap - so just grab one and watch the lot. When you're done do the same from the Hammer Studio.

There's a great box set of the original "The Fly" that came out earlier this month. It includes two of it's sequels and a bonus disc of great extras. The Fly and Return Of The Fly are classics.

The Monster Legacy releases of those classic Universal's you listed are the best DVD version because they include all of the sequels in one package with the great extras.

You should go out and buy Jacques Tourneur's Night of the Demon ASAP. The Columbia disc contains both it and the alternate version, Curse of the Demon. Definitely an essential.

THey are pretty awesome. I bought the Dracula, Frankenstein and Wolfman boxes real cheap and had great fun watching the movies all in strict chronological order (in order to fully appreciate the many crossovers between them).

If you live near a Borders store, you can find all the Universal Legacy Monster sets on sale right now for $14.99 each. A GREAT deal, for the amount of films you get.

Another classic you need...the original CARNIVAL OF SOULS.
