I'm guessing you are asking if in each of our opinions, are films with supernatural killers slashers. I'd say yes. I consider Freddy and Jason to be supernatural given how they are nearly impossible to kill.

Films with Freddy and Jason admitted slashers but last series, may be. Films like Neon Maniacs, Pumpkinhead, Night of the Scarecrow is slashers? What did you think? I think that films is slashers.

There are quite a few where somebody is posessed by the evil soul of a killer, like with the Child's Play movies, and Sorority House Massacre II, and Hard to Die, just to name a few. I consider those slashers.

However, if there's a monster, then I'd say it's a monster movie. Though they probably follow exactly the same format as a slasher.

For those reading who might be confused...

Scream was a film from 1985, but its alternate title was indeed The Outing. I still own it on VHS somewhere here.

The import title for The Outing (1987) was The Lamp.

I think THE BOOGEYMAN (1980) dir. Ulli Lommel is a great example of supernatural slasher. it has the feeling of a Halloween rip off, but the killer only comes to life through a broken mirror.

As long as there are people being stalked, sliced, diced and disposed of in a somewhat methodical fashion, I'm okay with it, whether it's a supernatural being doing it, an actual flesh and blood killer or something in-between. I guess that's just my opinion though. :)

Every style within the slasher sub-genre or any others, as long as well-done, will be always OK for me.

But I do have still some preference for "real slashers" like the original When a Stranger Calls, which is one my favourite all-time movies.

    favourite instead of favorite ...
    organisation instead of organization ...
    emphasise instead of emphasize ...
    damn!
