Having already ordered part 2, I would say to at least get parts 1, 4, 6, 7 (I would also suggest 5, but some don't like it)

I'd get them in order until you complete the series.

  5. Hell, at $10.00 each, I would buy all of them. :D

yeah, go in order. Especially with parts 2,3, and The Final Chapter (4) and considering that at the beginning of each one it pretty much tells how the previous one ended. 5 and six give minor spoilers to The Final Chapter as the films unfold but nothing as major as the first three sequels.

For that price, be a completist and get every single one. It doesnt look like a box set is coming out any time soon.

Yeah, I recommend getting them all too. The transfers are all great, and each one has its charms that makes it worthy of anyone's collection!

If you must though, do what John said, start at #1.

I still don't know why people don't like 5, its a guy in a hockey mask, does it have to be Jason? The plot is coherent enough, and it has some of the most brutal kills in the series.

I like Part 5, it's my least favorite of the series, but that doesn't mean I don't like the movie.

Well i took the plunge and ordered the others lastnight, so i have parts 2-8 on there way, to my knowledge parts 1/9/10 aren`t released here yet on dvd. Part 1 as everyone knows is getting a special edition treatment over here sometime so i`ll pick that up also when it`s released.

    Thanks for all the replies.

    Fraser.

10 dollars a piece is a great price (i wish a box set would come ..)

buy em all and get it over with. for that price it's a steal. I ended up paying $24 CAN for 1-4 and 9-10 then $32 CAN for 5-8.

Yes I am a sucker to Paramount. Fucking bastards. At least they released the DAMN things on DVD.

    Yes, Paramount DOES suck!!

No extras except a fucking theatrical trailer???? Come on now, Paramount, we know you can do better than that!!! :fuck:

I am dying to see the extra footage from the original!

Part 1, 4 and 6 are the best of the serie. But if you do have enough money, just buy them all.

It's not really the fact that they put no features on the dvds that bothers me, it's more about the price they put on them.
