Just won VISITING HOURS and EYES OF LAURA MARS off e-bay but I won't be keeping them.Gifts for a friend.
Thanks for the info! I found one for $85 which looks like it's in pretty good condition. No visible separations on the fold lines or anything like that. Even still, I think I'll pass for now. If you ever want to get rid of one of yours just let me know!!
I remember seeing VISITING HOURS at the picture show and seeing the poster outside. I love the colors on that one. Back then, I used to want to take pictures of the theaters but as a kid, I didn't have access to a camera. I really wish I had because those show houses are all gone now.
I miss all of our old single screen theaters, they had so much more style than the multiplexes that replaced them. The only local link we have to those days anymore is The Naro, built in the 20's.It's on the historical register now.Old school theater with the neon and hundreds of individual bulbs on the marquee.Great place ! While I wasn't really a huge fan of HOBO WITH A SHOTGUN I did end up seeing that at a great old time theater. The Carolina Theater in Durham has two huge balconies and over 1,300 seats.HOBO looked great on that big screen !
Now THAT is a rare experience! I was lucky to see THE BEYOND here in San Francisco in the vintage Castro Theatre in 1998. I won the re-release poster for it in a local newspaper after answering the trivia question correctly: What was the name of the island in ZOMBIE? I won the poster, an "eyeball" with the title on it and 2 tickets to see the film opening night. Good Times.
That's super cool,I'd love to win something like that.Oh,just found out that ZOMBIE is playing at the late show for two day at the Landmark theater in D.C. in late October. That'd be fun. Oh,JGrendel, glad to hear you still have a classic old school movie theater in your area, they are a vanishing breed in the States.Last Halloween an old single screen theater in the Midwest was running an all day Horrorthon of vintage horror flicks, stuff from the 30's-60's.They were screening films like WHITE ZOMBIE,CARNIVAL OF SOULS,13 GHOSTS and HOUSE ON HAUNTED HILL all day, even had some of the actors from the films appearing there to sign autographs. If I could have gotten there I would have loved to have seen something like that in a great little local theater.I miss the feeling of sinking into a theater seat at a local one-screener and catching classic scare flicks. There's so many jerks on cell phones and ipads now every time I go to the movies at the multiplex it just drives me nuts.

Just got a couple new ones. Nothing out of the ordinary, but classics still... I always hate when I see those stupid triangle boxes at my door. Happy Birthday to Me is in great condition, but the box was dented and had no cushioning inside, so now I have all those ripples on the right hand side... Hopefully putting it in a frame behind some other posters will flatten it out.
Three different posters for The Mutilator, all autographed by director Buddy Cooper. Unrated Poster: R-rated Poster: Alternate Fall Break Poster:
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME: I have never gotten a trianglular mailer that wasn't damaged. I remember getting a rolled HALLOWEEN II and FRIDAY PART 3 and trifolded CHAINSAW MASSACRE in one lucky order...and the triangular tube was bashed up. Wasn't a good day. BUDDY COOPER trilogy: awesome. I was tempted to purchase...but changed. Great purchase!
Hey guys new to the forums. Thought I would share some of my horror movie posters. Rawhead Rex 27" x 41" one sheet signed by Clive Barker at Texas Frightmare Weekend 2011. Hellraiser 27" x 41" one sheet signed by Clive Barker, Ashley Laurence, and Doug Bradley at Texas Frightmare Weekend 2011.
I was excited to get this. It arrived without the frame (as expected) but it was nicely linenbacked and it's one of the best posters I've ever bought:
Just got posters for both Mannequin movies! Plus a few more, that I will upload pics of in just a minute.
