"Screams of terror...silenced only by a splintering of glass!!!"

I got a very nice copy of this VHS recently - Debra Feuer was supposed to be in Jenny Neumann's role but got in a major car crash just as filming started.

Deadly Blessing would be awesome too, however the supernatural elements always prevented me from grouping it into the 'slasher' category.

I have barely heard of any of these, damn I wish my video store had better offerings, like I had the uncut tape of the burning and have seen all the stepfathers, and the trailer for curtains, but jeez. You guys should got into a dvdr businesss or something, if you have cassetes, cause this shit is rare!

I heard both of these are due out from Trinity/905 (whatever the hell they are called)...so expect the usual p&s garbage. We will see if its true or not..I hope it's the latter...they both deserve better than that.

Yeah, it is definetly not a standard slasher, more like a "supernatural" horror type.

    Yes.

A slasher with supernatural elements doesn't make it any less of a slasher film IMO. It's not a standard slasher, but it is still a slasher all the same, albeit better and more layered than most. Slashers can have depth too, not just slashing.

yeah, but does that make films with monsters killing people into the slasher genre? (BLOOD BEACH, HELL NIGHT, etc)

I don't see how that has anything to do with Deadly Blessing, but no, it doesn't. In Deadly Blessing,
the killer is very much human.
The supernatural undertones are there and they add more mystery and layers to the film's happenings, but the killer is the main plot point until
    the Incubus ending.
Some slasher films have their killers possessed, which is clearly supernatural, yet they're still considered slashers. Do you disagree? How about the Elm Street films?

You mean, the slasher films previously released that warrant a SE, or just slasher movies that need a DVD release?

I'll just go with the former:

    - A Nightmare on Elm Street
    - Wes Craven's New Nightmare
    - Sleepaway Camp 2: Unhappy Campers
    - Halloween II
    - Halloween 4
    - Halloween H20

And for the latter, I want The Stepfather and Slaughter High.

My votes with an uncut release of THE BURNING. Hurry up Sony and release it! You'll make a mint (again).

I'd also like to see DEATH WARMED UP released. I know it's not a slasher film but all the same a nice little Austrailan zombie flick made before Jackson's BrainDead!
