Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan I'm watching all the Kane Hodder entries in the series.
After been bored s**tless watching Friday Part VIII, (How awful is this, I think its actually the worst entry in the series, the deaths suck ass) I am gonna watch: Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday
Just watched Jason X, and enjoyed it more than I did before, I still rolled my eyes are certain bits (gonna take more than a poke in the ribs to stop this old dog, yep that ought to do it. This sucks on so many levels, the Kay Em terminator bit, urgh, the fact that Brodski doesnt die). So after rewatching all the kane Hodder Fridays I would rank them like this: Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood (definatly the best of his, the best look of Jason and my 3rd personal favourite Friday, uncut it may even take number 1 spot). Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday (I really enjoyed this, as a Jason movie it does fail but is thorougly enjoyable) Jason X (starts well and turns medicore to awful in parts, but creative kills were good. Uber-Jason was cool but I prefer the hockey masked version) Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan (just awful, Jasons mask looks shabby in this too, its way too round, the deaths are poor, hated the actors alot, only good things are Julius vs. Jason and Kane Hodder.)
Horrible, maybe if you`re into video games you like it,is like Grand theft Auto game meets Stay Alive movie.:sleepy:
Local independent theatre is screening Cronenberg's Dead Ringers tonight, so going to check it out. I've never seen it before. This month is going to be awesome at the Broadway Theatre. Next week is Videodrome. And then the week before Halloween up until Halloween night they are screening Hatchet, Bride of Frankenstein, Army of Darkness, Shadow of the Vampire, Rocky Horror Picture Show, The Brand Upon the Brain, some other Canadian horror/comedy I can't remember the name of, and of course John Carpenter's Halloween. And all 7 flicks for the week before Halloween will only be $20 as they have a package deal for all of them! Can't wait!
I'm off to see Hatchet at 12.40pm, already watched it on DVD twice, cant wait to view it in the cinema.
I went through the entire Dracula Legacy Collection tonight (Dracula, Son of, House of, Daughter of). Priceless stuff. I really need to pick up the other collections from the Universal Monsters series.
Watched "Someone's Watching Me!" last night. It was alright, but I never would have guessed it had been made by Carpenter. ~Matt
Really? I can see a lot of structural similarities to HALLOWEEN in it. The way he set up a number of chase and fright sequences were pretty similar. I really liked the film myself, it was like his other films from the time...expertly made, old fashioned, and with some pretty progressive themes (plenty of feminist issues addressed, what with Barbeau being a lesbian, Hutton a successful career woman and the fact that she more than holds her own against the stalker). So what did everybody watch today? It better have been Silent Night, Deadly Night, like any good boy or girl should.
Saturday: Christmas Evil Sunday: Silent Night, Deadly Night Last Night: Black Christmas Tonight: Black Christmas w/Bob Clark commentary I think I'm all Christmas'ed out.
Watched A Christmas Story with the wife and kids earlier today. Got the kids toys put together quicker than I thought so I retired to the basement theater to watch Christmas Evil then Eastern Promises. Good stuff all around.
