I've got the Bootleg. What's the deal is this incorrectly framed or something? I don't really care, though. This movie is one of the worst in my collection. My mom bought it for me, so that's cool, and I would've bought it to finish the trilogy, but that's it. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone that likes horror movies. It's a stretch to recommend Evil Dead 2. Ack... This is my opinion and is not to start an argument. I will not be checking this thread again, so don't look for a reply.
dammit, I have 5 DVDs of that sucker!!!! all the anchor bays because of the extras, the HK RC3 because of the beautiful transfer, the MGM RC2 because of the pretty darn good german synch, and the worst-ever-german laser paradise DVD because... because... gotta have 'em all!!!!!! I never understood myself just why I love that movie SO much..... well in a way we are all complete freaks I guess
I have two other copies somewhere (can't remember which, one might be VHS) but I only use the boomstick edition.
I only have the 2-DVD AB Limited Edition. It's all I need... Although I am sometimes tempted to give into my "completist urges".
Actually, I had no intention of seeing this film. But I bumped into the Broomstick edition in a secondhand store for $10 and thought. "What the hell." I have not watched it yet, but at that price, it was probably worth it.
In October, I ran the Director's Cut for a group we call Laser Rangers (We run films on either DVD or Laserdisca). The group was appalled by the poor quality of the print and most of them preferred the theatrical version's ending (I happen to like both endings). One member said that he'd only buy the thearical version.
