Anybody remember this Donald Cammell thriller from 1987?
Starring Cathy Moriarty and David Keith. Had a cool visual style, creepy "eye" shots and a fucking great ending.
Haven't seen it in ages though. Another great film that hasn't found it's way on DVD yet.

Yes, I certainly do remember this disturbing chiller from the late 80's. I have a beat up VHS that I picked up for next to nothing at a closeout sale, but it's hardly playable. Hasn't this been OOP for several years? I'm unable to locate it anywhere so I do indeed look forward to a future DVD release. :)

I remember the movie but not too many details about it. Now that you mention it, I might have try to find it at Blockbuster.

Remember reading some article about a restored uncut widescreen director's cut showing at some festival a couple of years ago. I really wish someone would put this out on DVD, damnit.

I just watched this again and liked it even more than the first time, 5 years ago. The eye shots Hellbilly mentioned made me think of Tenebrae. It definitely has a Euro feel to it. The director shot and killed himself in 1996. According to the biography and police report, he didn't really shoot himself in the head and then ask his wife for a mirror so he could watch himself die. Still, it's an interesting rumor and I can see why his wife would encourage it given his psychadelic 60's British hippie background. After hearing that, aren't you a little bit curious to watch the film?

I've got the widescreen, Dutch import DVD. This is a visually impressive film and well worth checking out, even in its VHS version. The opening murder feels like vintage Argento. Very cool music too.

I think Arrow is going to release this on DVD or Blu. There was an artwork insert for it included with their release of Black Sabbath. Has anyone heard anything about it?

I've heard that Arrow's been working on the transfer, but no word yet on if it'll be a Blu or DVD. Certainly hoping for the former!

Donald Cammell also directed the cult favorites PERFORMANCE and DEMON SEED.A very stylish and talented director. His premature death was tragic.Curiously,WHITE OF THE EYE was almost shelved, the studio had no faith in it.It was only released because Marlon Brando screened it and lobbied the studio to put it out.

I like it. It's a bit over the top at times, but enjoyable.
