The transfer by Image is VERY good, especially for such a film as this. I didn't find it that gory, but toward the end it did have it's moments.

Echo what the others have said. Not really gory, but it's a fun side road for the cannibal genre. The DVD is pretty darn good, esepcially for the price.

The hour long documentary on the Region 1 DVD is one of the best supplements I've ever seen... it was so good that it alone merits repeated viewings. The film, of course, is an exploitation classic... Basically an action movie with good healthy doses of gross-out gore thrown in there for good measure. Very fun.

Yeah... Cannibal Apocalypse wasn't that bad... I think I got caught up in some of the hype and was expecting a little more gore though. And yes, the DVD extras are worth the price alone.

PS - Should I feel bad for laughing at the part when in the sewers the rat caught on fire and ran a few feet in flames before jumping into the water? That was pretty damn funny.

PSS - Scissor Sisters suck! ;)

  15. This movie stars the "Boogie Master" himself, John Morghen(Giovanni Lombardo Radice). Still, his best performance was as Mike Logan in Cannibal Ferox. Eh, twat?

That was my problem too. I read some reviews and thought it would be gory like some other cannibal movies. I was a little let down, but it was good to finally see it uncut.

Seem like better titles. The documentary is definitely very good, made me realize the similarites between this and Dawn of the Dead. (plus who knew Giovanni Lombardo Radice was gay....also in Gangs of New York!)
