    Third time's a charm, right?

Preorders for Shout Factory's August line-up went live (again) at Amazon. They briefly went up last month, but apparently it was an error, as they quickly reverted back to nonsense shortly after. It looks like MOTEL HELL is still jacked up, but the rest are fixed. Overall, it's another really good month.

    August 5th, 2014:
Phantom of the Paradise - Blu / DVD Combo
Without Warning - Blu / DVD Combo

    August 12th, 2014:
Motel Hell - Blu / DVD Combo
    War Films: Triple-Feature - DVD
includes Beach Red, Attack, and Attack on the Iron Coast

    August 19th, 2014:
    Leviathan - Blu-Ray
Martial Arts Movie Marathon, Vol. 2 - DVD
includes The Fate of Lee Khan, Shaolin Boxers, The Young Dragons, and The Shaolin Plot

    August 26th, 2014:
    Compromising Positions - DVD
The Hills Run Red / Apache - DVD
The Legend of Hell House - Blu-Ray

I'll use this thread for write-ups, covers, updates, reviews, etc.

Just in time for hunting season, Scream Factory give Greydon Clark's WITHOUT WARNING (1980) its domestic video debut! When a group of campers set out for a weekend of backpacking and beer, they're warned about recent disappearances in the mountains. Paying no heed, they soon find these hills are alive with the sound of slaughter, as a seven-foot alien is winging carnivorous Frisbees around the place with wild abandon. He's on an intergalactic hunting trip, and man's his trophy numero uno. It's up to a cranky truck stop owner and a crazy 'nam vet to revoke this E.T.'s license. Boasting an amazing roster of slumming stars including Jack Palance, Martin Landau, Neville Brand, and Cameron Mitchell, to name a few, the film is a riot of overacting and nonsensical situations, but it remains a fun little slasher variation that had been inexplicably absent from Stateside release for far too long. Plus it has cub scouts in peril. No word yet on extras yet, but I'm sure Shout are on the case.

    Theatrical trailer!

Took me forever to find Without Warning on DVD. By the time I watched it I found it to be dull and boring. Yet I am actually considering the BR I figure the image will be allot better. The movie itself is a snoozefest but I might give it another chance.

I plan on getting The Legend of Hell House & Without Warning. Have to say that the Martial Arts Movie Marathon Volume 2 looks like a poor selection of films. I would like to see more quality martial arts films from Shout, though I read somewhere that Ninja III: The Domination was a poor seller.

I'm so glad I didn't attempt to buy the Motel Hell/Deranged double feature on amazon a few months ago.\

I've never seen Phantom of the Paradise before

Will be buying Legend Of Hell House, Phantom of The Paradise, and maybe Without Warning. Haven't really decided on Without Warning.

sounds good to me. hopefully its at a lower price point, though. a year ago the non SE releases were going for $12-$15 on amazon...now they never seem to get lower than $19. either way, Legend of Hell House is worth picking up.

Slight adjustment to the Phantom of the Paradise extras:

    http://www.shoutfactory.com/product/phantom-paradise-collectors-edition

Presumably an HD upgrade for those two features.

Didn't know Cundey did the cinematography on this one. Nice.

Great to see Tarah Nutter and Chris Nelson featured. This is the most anticipated release for me EVER in the history of home entertainment. No lie, I've wanted this on VHS (official release) since 1982. Now that we are hi-def...well, can't wait!
