Half Wolf. Half Cop. All WolfCop. The full trailer for the new Canadian indie feature WolfCop just dropped today. Opens Canada-wide in Cineplex theatres June 6th, 2014. This was in part responsible because of a Cinecoup contest held in 2012.

    Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Spd_v-d5-xs

This one was filmed in my home Province and I know a lot of the crew who worked on it, as well as my good friends in Shooting Guns had the opportunity to score the film, so that adds to my excitement to check it out. Here's two music videos for the band, both of which I directed, shot and edited, to help you get a feel for what to expect for the score:

Shooting Guns - Public Taser: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OMsyTYtlj40

Shooting Guns - No Fans: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sv5JTWsk-X8

So not only is the fuzz on screen, but on the soundtrack too.

    "Officer Lou Garou"

I don't know how the rest of the movie will turn out, but that's funny.

The WolfCop team actually just dropped some previews of the soundtrack from my pals Shooting Guns, and it's Stoner Doom meets John Carpenter. https://soundcloud.com/wolfcop

I will probably end up double-featuring this and Late Phases tonight, both released today. I'm detecting a theme...

I hated the fuck out of this thing. It starts off really strong and then just nose dives during the second act and never recovers. The humor in this is so painfully unfunny it made me want to cringe (the "sex scene" almost made me want to shut it off because they were trying so hard to be cleaver and witty). It doesn't help matters much the story becomes so incomprehencable by the end that I can honestly say this will go down as one of the worst horror films of the year for me.

I enjoyed it as well. Worth the $12.99 blind buy and definitely something I'll revisit again down the road. Loved the practical effects.

The transformation scene and face rip were pretty rad.

I can't say I was a fan of this one, although I found it completely tolerable due to the 80 minute running time. The three or so gore / action scenes scattered throughout were pretty fantastic, but it's too bad that fun tone couldn't have carried through the entire movie. The script was a bore and the humor was terribly unfunny.

Too bad the movie didn't measure up to this amazing publicity still:

Honestly when I saw it for the first time last year I didn't care for it that much. My expectations for it were ridiculously high and the movie didn't measure up.

Watching it yesterday with my expectations in check I enjoyed it a helluva lot more.

It does feel like a film that wanted to be bigger and badder but couldn't due to the limited budget (and I have a feeling the sequel will be a much better film) but I enjoyed what we got and always appreciate when a filmmaker tries to make an old school style film with practical effects.

It won't work for everyone but I had a lot of dumb as hell fun with it and can't wait to see WolfCop II.

I thought this was really fun. This kind of stuff usually tends to be too silly for me, but it totally worked. It was funny but violent to boot.

A little let down as I got too hyped by the trailer. Didn't hate it, but didn't love it either.
Big Bad Wolf did the horny werewolf horror/comedy better, but the first transformation scene was fucking great!

Loved it, loved it. Really funny, absurd, and action-packed. I laughed at the small details, too:

The autobody shop is called "Stiles Autobody"--a reference to Teen Wolf's best bud.

WolfCop was a great one to watch with a bunch of friends and beers. It knew its audience and delivered. Big cheese, and I hope the sequel really happens.
