I haven't caught up with any of these, so I can't vote. Maybe that's a good thing.

Well, I actually think a few of those are somewhat decent and am glad that Lions gate keeps cranking them out. There are more horror movies coming out now on video than ever. Of course, more often than not they are complete garbage (see virtually EVERYTHING from the wretched Asylum), but I say keep 'em coming! Some diamonds in the rough inevitably turn up here and there. As for those on the list that I've seen:
    * The Off Season gets my vote. When a movie has Angus in it and I still am counting the minutes until the blessed end when the shitfest will just STOP, you know it's a dud.
*Slaughterhouse Massacre sucks, and it by no means a massacre of any sort. Not even very gory.
*Dracula 3000 is bad, but somehow justa tiny bit entertaining in an awful way. That's a tiny bit, mind you.
*Jack O' Lantern..I am an absolute sucker for movies with any sort of a Halloween theme, but could not watch more than five minutes of this. Looks like a 10 year old shot it with his family camcorder. I really hate the DTV flicks that don't even attempt to filmlook the shot on video footage.
*Jackhammer Massacre....much more bloody than I expected, and a strange and interestin little film. Not for everybody, but I liked it.
*Santa's Slay...definitely a comedy and not scary at all, but I liked it as well for the most part. The opening scene with James Caan and several other lesser stars is worth the price of a rental alone.
*House of the dead 2...liked it less than the original, because the first one was terrible but in an endearing way. This one was just dull.
I am looking forward to seeing Swarmed (despite the PG-13 tag) and Minotaur-is that one even out yet?

By the way, has anybody out there seen Werewolf Hunter? I picked this Lions gater up today fro a rent, but probably won't have time to catch it for a day or two. Any thoughts on this one?

I've seen Werewolf Hunter, and really the best way to sum it up is 'boring'. It's shot nicely, acting isn't bad, but the plot is just pretty boring. It's not very gory but there is a cool scene where the Werewolf turns into a man or vice versa I forget.

I liked it. Has some good atmosphere and nice performance by Julian Sands. It's more of a drama then horror but still has a few neat effects. In my opinion one of the better Filmax productions that came out recently.
Lionsgate screwed up the proper aspect ratio however, so shame on them.
There seems to be a kick ass 2-disc special edition of this movie available in Spain though.

I like WEREWOLF HUNTER as well. It's real title is ROMASANTA and is a historical drama based on the real account of a serial killer who claimed that he was a werewolf. To me, I don't see it as any more of a horror movie than something like QUILLS. The American title is rather misleading and has a tinge of "exploitation" to it. All werewolf imagery is relegated to dream sequences.

Oddly, Werewolf Hunter was one that I kept putting off renting. One of my friends said it was boring, but our tastes sometimes differ. I guess I'll have to check it out soon.

Dracula 3000. Big time garbage and probably one of my most hated films....ever!

I actually enjoyed Alien 3000. It was so cheesy and fun.

Something tells me that if I actually saw Santa's Slay, I would pick that probable shitfest instead.
