    I watched A Boy and His Dog the other night...looked pretty good...nice healthy level of grain. I thought the colors really popped when Vic went down to Topeka. And the audio was really impressive.

    I love this movie though. Don Johnson is one of the most underrated actors of all time. He gets a cheesy wrap because he was in Miami Vice (even though the first couple of seasons of Vice are easily some of the best cop dramas ever produced into a TV show). He is just such a charismatic actor....really fun to watch.

    Yeah, I got it back on Thursday.

    The Vagrant & The Godsend are both 16x9 and look pretty good.

    The Outing is 4x3. It looks decent, obviously sourced from an older video master. The "house" sequence at the beginning of the film looks like the contrast was tinkered with though...it looks way too bright and the blacks look quite gray. After that though, it looks fairly good. And it in uncut with the brief rape scene intact.

    Schizoid is 4x3, and the print looks pretty rough.

    I don't care about that. Do they look good enough that I should watch them. I already have a nice VHS transfer of THE OUTING. I was hoping for an upgrade.

    So pass on the DVD and stick with your VHS then... nobody is forcing you to buy it. :eek2:

    I'm confused so those of us who ordered the schizoid version of the horror DVD pack will get it? I ordered on amazon too forever ago and while the order has not been cancelled if I click the link to the version I ordered it says currently unavailable . I would just order the new version but I got the old one cheaper and just care about two of the films.

    I have no idea, since technically it's been cancelled by Shout Factory. Amazon probably fulfilled the early pre-orders, but maybe didn't receive enough stock to fulfill the later pre-orders.

    Like I said, I chatted with someone at Amazon and they ensured me I was getting the original pressing. I don't even know if I care. Is that Whats the Matter with Helen movie any good? Maybe I'd rather have that?

    Hey now, I can be a bit annoyed that a cool title like THE OUTING got shafted on what will likely be its only disc based release. Shouts not doing us any favors by releasing VHS transfers of these titles. They've killed any chance that an outfit like Synapse or Scorpion will put some effort into a proper release.
