I read a recent interview with Barker and he sounded like he thought that a team that is currently looking for the lost footage from NIGHTBREED for a special edition release might well be on their way to discovering it.Don't loose hope yet.

Alas, it's fullscreen. Still, I would like to see that trailer.

Region 2 is no good for me.

Are you saying they only put 1 second back in? Or that there was only 1 second cut? Because the 2nd is not correct. There are at least 2 scenes missing footage. (Seriously, whoever cut that R-rated version is a real weirdo).

From what I understand, the scene with the kid that was killed when the canoe was turned over (I forget, was his name Kenny?) is just a bit longer when they discover him. I think we get to see a second or two longer of the snake slithering through his mouth or nose or whatever it was.

I think you're right about Meg's body - but there's also 2 shots deleted from the scene before Kenny's death. One of the girls reacting to the guys running, and the other of the guys running naked down the dock before jumping in. Check YouTube yourself, I did yesterday.

I'd put Night Warning, but Code Red is going to release it, so I'll leave it off.

    Other come to mind though:

Iguana with the Tongue of Fire
    Eye in the Labyrinth
    Blood Frenzy
    Death Valley
    Deadly Intruder
Curtains (I don't count that piece of crap Region 0 release)
Appointment with Fear (with Debi Sue Voorhees!)
    Home for the Holidays
    Savage Water (for laughs)
    Phobia
The Prey (DVD-R just doesn't cut it)
    Ghost Dance
    The Returning
    Rocktober Blood
    The Boogens
    American Nightmare
    Blood Lake
    Fear '81
    The Slayer
    Silent Night Deadly Night III
    Home Sweet Home
    Terror on Tour
    555
    The Nesting
    Island of Blood
    Hauntedween
    City of Blood
    Rest in Pieces
    Ghosthouse
Invitation to Hell '82 (not the shitty Craven flick)

And...uh...probably more, but I just need to stop typing for now. Hehe,

  12. So what do I really wanna see finally on DVD? On that's relatively easy:

    The Town that Dreaded Sundown.

Little Darlings (this once big movie from Peter Bogdonovich, which has star power, is a true head-scratcher as to why it's never been on DVD right. I'm guessing lazy Paramount and rights issues).

The Wraith (well now, according to www.deadpit.com regular call-in reporter and ace DVD bonus features producer Michael "slipcase" Felsher, he just intervieed the director of this as well as someone who owns one of the original stunt cars used, so we're probably finally gonna see a special edition release of this later on this year).

Appointment with Fear (as someone noted about, the younger then and still lovely Debi-Sue Voorhees of Friday the 13th Part V fame is in it, and from the VHS tape I rented & enjoyed, we again get to breifly see her naked and we get to enjoy her truely over-sized & awkward to wear granny panties as well).

Dudes (Another mid-'80s show with Jon Cryor with him and Flea of Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Daniel Roebuck which is sort of a cool, obscure, eccentric punk rock Western that is only known by so many of us.)

The above was released under it's alternate title "Pigs" by Troma, though it may be out of print and I've yet to hear anything good about Troma DVD releases. "The Attic" was on a 2-fer disc with "Crawlspace" from MGM's Midnite Movies collection but it's also out of print.

Love your list, BTW. I didn't think anyone else remembered "Alison's Birthday" but me.

Most of my wants have already been listed but I'd add "Night Terror", a TV-movie with Valerie Harper. I only caught part of it on a late night rerun once, but I think part of it was filmed at the same garage from the opening of "Tourist Trap".

One of my favorite 80's movies. The Platinum disc is weak but it's a pretty good transfer. I'll have to talk to my buddy and ask him if he is aware of another release. He played Jamie and I never let him forget it.

I assume it's the Michael J. Murphy film that you're looking for. Here is the link to the company that put out a SE DVD of this last year:

    http://www.sarcophilousfilms.com/

I bough the disc, and can say that it's definitely worth picking up.

  17. That's true. It had a VERY short run/breif life on DVD, and now the long out of print DVD goes for quite high. According to Michael "sllipcase" Felsher, a new disc is being prepped. And too cool that ya know the gentleman who played Jamie in the film! The Wraith is a very, very cool little, underrated sci-fi teen mystery and action oriented thriller. I can't wait to check it back out again soon. :D

It sells for a lot of money? No kidding. I bought that thing for $3 new 5 or 6 years ago. I used to having it playing in the dash of my car when I showed it at car shows, haha. If a SE, or even an edition that's not bare bones comes out, I'll double dip. I love the movie and saw it countless times on Saturday afternoons on WPIX in the NY area throughout the late 80's/early 90's.

The Wraith used to be harder to find and would go for quite a lot on E-Bay but not so much these days. I think more copies ended up getting out in distribution or something.

Same here. The platinum disc of The Wraith was widely available for several years before suddenly going OOP. I purchased it for $5.99 at Best Buy several months before the official release date back in 2002.

I also own the R4 widescreen DVD, which looks stunning.

This remains one of my favorite 80's flicks, so if a Special Edition does come along, it shall be mine!
