I like some of Troma's pickups but I hate when they are 'troma-tized' as in retitled and recut/edited. Some of their pickups on the Toxie Triple Sets are decent cheese that deserve a better DVD presentation.

Like Epitaph! Why they renamed it Mommy's Epitaph on the DVD is weird, but at least they left the actual film credit alone.

And the bastards still need to release Hollowgate.

I'm going to be honest, I own a few Troma DVDs.

Redneck Zombies holds a dear memory in my heart. In the early stages of my relationship with my girlfriend, I was at her house with one of our friends and we raided her stepdad's VHS collection. Along with Dead Alive, we watched this. Not a great movie at all but like I said, it's about memories.

And I won't lie about this either: I own Cannibal! The Musical and Tromeo & Juliet. And I like them.

Cannibal! the Musical is probably the best thing Troma ever put out.

The uncut version of The Toxic Avenger is the only thing worth owning, I don't care about the rest, it seems that they are trying to make bad movies on purpose.

  8. I too am a huge fan of Troma, i love the Toxic Avenger series and i am a big fan of Lloyd Kaufman. I cannot wait for Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead to hit DVD, does anyoune know when the release date is.

They didn't make it though, the only thing Lloyd did on that one was buy it and change the title (admittedly for the better). Troma picks up a lot decent movies, it's their in house output that I don't like. It's rather disheartening to have to buy some of these movies from them.

I agreed about 85 percent with your statement. Troma has a very rough track record. Having seen toxic avenger part II and III I was let down considerably. The original is awesomely bad and parts two and three are just bad. Yet I also own luthor the geek and think that it's a interesting title. I saw mother's day and am currently using it to fertalize my garden.

Shape 22 made a great point though, I'd much rather watch Troma's crap compared to the lousy hollywood cycle of remakes and reimagings. At least Troma has the decency to throw in some titties and gore.

Yeah, it's been listed on their site for at least a few years now. I still hold on to my ancient VHS in hopes some other company will license it and give it some love.

^ I still have my VHS too, with the pumpkin cover. Unfortunately, the tracking starts to go shortly after the gas station scene, so I fear it's on its last legs.

Always thought it was weird how the tape opens with a trailer for the movie that spoils everything. Everything. The kills, the ending, everything is there crammed into 2 minutes. Then the movie starts... :hum:
