Top three of all time, eh? I really hate to say "all time" because tomorrow I may see a film from twenty years ago I never heard of until just now. But to limit it to films I've seen and can currently recall, I have to say:

    1. The Beyond
    2. The Exorcist
    3. A Nightmare on Elm Street

Even as I prepare to send this, other films, such as the Thing, the Birds, and even Jaws are making arguments for inclusion. But I am deaf to them and this is my list.

  10. 1 Return Of The Living Dead
    2 Friday The 13th
    3 House

    1. The Evil Dead Trilogy. Yeah, I am so cheating here.
    2. Halloween part one, surely not that last god awful sequel
    3. Night/Day/Dawn of the Dead, let the cheating commence.

I was unsure if Donnie Darko counted as horror so I didn't count it, but I like that a hell of a lot too. It also hurt me to not list The Burning, Suspira, Intruder, Fright Night, and Near Dark.

Dang! Not much time to collate all of the possibiles, so I'm doing this by instinct:

    1. Alien (1979)

    2. The Thing (1982)

    3. (tie) Dawn of the Dead (1979)
A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984)

    1. Dawn of the Dead

    2. Texas Chainsaw Massacre

    3. Dead and Buried

I'd like to include Ichi the Killer in my top 3, but I don't think it can be considered horror.

    1. The Exorcist - gets better every time I see it and still scares the crap out of me
    2. Wicker Man - wow, what an experience and Christopher Lee is the man
    3. Fright Night - a favorite from my childhood

It's tough to narrow it down to three, but these are my favorites right now.
