Hmm Usually anything griddy from the 70's does the job for me.
Slashers and Zombies would have to be tied for first...
50's thru 70's sci-fi, especially guys running around in rubber suits. Zombie movies are a close second.
Zombie movies are good. I'm a sucker for anything really over the top, but that doesn't really count as a subgenre since those ones come from all over.
Slashers - early 80's.
I'm gonna go with 70's and 80's slashers..although I'm also partial to B-grade 50's and 60's sci fi stuff. Roger Corman rules.
Italian zombies and cannibals.
Sci-fi / horror that takes place in outer space and has a goodly amount of T&A.
The whole Euro trash thing. Zombies and Cannibals. I know technically better films are being made today, but for some reason, I'd choose Nights of Terror over Versus. I guess it is based on what I grew up watching.
i love zombie movies they are awesome
You know, my preferences change from week to week; month to month. It could be Zombies of the Italian nature, or exploitation from the 70's (ISORG; Thriller), maybe japanese horror and/or martial arts (a la Versus; Junk). Or yet there's 70's/80's slashers (Black Christmas; The Prowler) or maybe it's the satanic stuff like The Omen or The Excorsist; Excorsist lll - Legion; and the classics like Rosemary's Baby; or the so bad it's good (Alucarda). The point is, I just don't know. Today it seems to be...?
(Gothic)Eurohorror and Gialli.
i like american zombie movies
1.dawn of the dead
2.day of the dead
3.night of the living dead 1990
4.night of the living dead 1968
5.dawn of the dead 2004
6.return of the living dead 1,2
british zombie movies
1.shaun of the dead
2.28 days later
european/itailan zombie movies
2.hell of the living dead
Zombies would be first, but recently I have been getting into nunsploitation films.
Can you suggest a few? This genre sounds interesting.
My favorite subgenres are Film Noir, Western, and Blaxploitation.
I love film noir as well, but I thought we were talking about horror sub genres.
Oh, if we're talking horror I guess I like classic horror and giallo the best.
There's something about Giallo that i've never liked or at least been uncomfortable with.
It's not the crappy Italian acting ,dubbing or anything lke that cause I can accomodate those in Zombie films etc..............
Maybe it's cause to me they always feel..........well........."made-up" as they go along.
