I was all set to start getting excited about this, and then I saw that fucking name...
    Jack Ketchum.

Goddamn it, when are horror filmmakers gonna realize that guy's shit is best left on the page?!

As a person who has worked enough film festivals, I can tell you that people like this do exist. While he's a little more vocal and adamant than some of the unruly guests I've witnessed, it's the same "me me me" attitude. Film festivals in general show more challenging fare than what you normally see in the theaters, and some people are just not ready for it.

I am excited for the movie, but I'm even more excited for the book!

I can't wait to get my hands on a new Jack Ketchum novel!

That is really really damn cool! I want one. But, they are only making 26, and pricing them at $1250 (but the free reading copy is a thoughtful addition).

Damn. I would like to be wealthy enough to feel good about spending the money for a book like that. :)

I'm waiting the cop in the helmet to run in saying "We got a 1040 sayin' some guy's gone berserk down at the Bijou Theeater!"

Yeah, I've been to Sundance (including this year) every year for the past 6 years or so for work, Toronto too. I know people complain about stuff in the audience but there have been way worse films in the festival with less outrage.

If it wasn't a stunt, hats off to McKee for getting that reaction.

So this is a sequel to a movie called "The Offspring"? Looked it up on IMDB and it stars the same actress who played The Woman. How is The Offspring?

So this is an offshoot of Off Season and Offspring, and McKee wrote it with Ketchum. I'm there.

Just found out Angela Bettis is in it! If this plays in New York City, I am already planning on taking the train down.

I bought Off Season at Dollar Tree (for a buck, of course!) and loved it! I bought it because I saw Jack Ketchum's name and I had heard so much about him from the forum. I've seen Lost Girl and Girl Next Door, but this was the first book I read by him and really liked it a lot!

    I received the book today!

It isn't a small size paperback like the previous Leisure paperbacks. It is a little bit larger.

Unfortunately The Woman sucked. Lucky McKee's worst film.

Yeah, agreed. It was really silly, kind of boring, and certainly nothing to get riled up about, its got nothing we havnt seen in horror movies already. Also, Im noticing a common trend with Jack Ketchum, female torture fetish methinks?

Even though the book is a sequel to Off Season and Offspring, there were definitely heavy shades of The Girl Next Door and Right To Life here.

Not Ketchum's best book, but far from his worst. The last few chapters were pretty vicious.

Just watched it.Have no idea why anyone would get that upset over it. There is far more disturbing movies out there. Must be a set up, or this clown just wanted his 15 seconds of fame.

I just saw it this friday at a festival in a double feature with "Cold Fish".

The first movie of the double feature was "Cold Fish" and I already knew it was awsome because this was the third time I saw this movie but the first on the theaters. In my opinion, the experience of seeing Cold Fish on the big screen in wonderfull.

After Cold Fish, the night was ruined...

The Woman has great gore and a few disturbing scenes if you´re can´t stand enough violence. The majority of the audience was ok with the violence presented on screen. As a movie, like I said the gore was good, but the movie sucked ass for its stupid story.

The paperback includes a short-story sequel to The Woman. In my opinion, the short story was much more violent and depraved than The Woman.

Still very intrigued to see the movie though.
