Is this as bad as I heard it is or is it worth buying ?
It is as bad as you've heard AND it is worth buying, but I'm waiting for the new disc with the audio commentary to come out before I buy it.
i got this disc the other day... pretty good, reminds me ALOT of Hell of the Living Dead
Any idea when the one with the commentary is going to be released ?
I didn't care for the film too much. I found it rather boring for an Italian zombie film.
I may pick it up anyway sometime in the future. Someone at another board mentioned that maybe Shriek Show could release a box set of the Zombie films when they have them all released. It was just an idea, not news OR a rumor. That would be great though!
I think some time in November.
I liked it a lot. I have a bootleg to substain me until the special edition comes out. Not like one of the classic zombie films, but personally I find almost all Euro zombie films entertaining.
i like it alot
I won't lie and say this movie isn't cheesy like the devil, but the one thing I don't imagine it could ever be called is boring.
Gotta dig that flying severed zombie head!!!
...reminds me of one of those Mad Balls from the '80's. Remember those?
i still have some madballs
Gross for one, gross for all...
I just got this yesterday and I liked it. Probably the worst zombie movie I have but entertaining none the less. My beef with this disc are the scenes that look like they were ported from a laserdisc.. The insert that came with the DVD said it was just the intro that was taken from a video source but there are way more than that... I don't mind I guess cause this movie isn't a masterpiece but I'd actually like to know what the deal is.. Why just say it's the intro when there's obviously more scences that weren't from film or at least look like they were ported from a video source. Do film elements for these scenes not exist?:eek2:
Poor image quality
I agree that the image quality of Zombi 3 is a real letdown. All the gore scenes are ported from an inferior source and the liner notes make NO mention of this whatsoever. This is very misleading to the consumers and I guess Shriek Show kept quiet about it for obvious reasons. I can accept that the intro is from a poor source as it is so rare. Even VIPCO managed a better transfer than this!!! :-0
We never hide things at Shriek Show. The transfer was a composite of two sources. It was the only way to make the transfer complete. The liner notes seem to focus on the opening but it was the only way to make it complete and could have been clearer. We felt making it complete was more important than not making it complete.
The only source that was complete was the Japanese version which was taken from an inferior source. So in conclusion we feel it was the only way to make lemons from lemonade.
The film was also not exaclty shot all that well...
You mean lemons into lemonade?
