Has anyone seen this? Own it?

I hear it's quite the rarity and fully uncut as opposed to the other releases.

I have the Japanese release of ZOMBI 3 but never came across this one. I did however find it on Amazon.co.jp for $140! And there's a listing for it on DVDAf.com but other than that, can't really find anymore info...

it was released in the uk as zombie flesh eaters 3, i've seen it and it's bad, very very bad! the uk dvd release is listed as uncut on the bbfc website but i can't confirm if this is the same as the japanese release, the uk release will probably cost you about $10 so if you really need to see it i would sugest going for this one, trust me when i say you will be glad you never spent $140 once you do!

I've seen the film before. I own the US release but way back when, before it came out over here and anywhere else for that matter on DVD - I got a bootleg copy of the Japanese VHS and it was near unwatchable. Apparently the master was worn so the tape was constantly rolling and you couldn't see anything.

But I remember when I saw the DVD there were scenes I remember seeing in the bootleg copy that weren't in the DVD. The running time on the Japanese DVD and tape is 93 minutes, every other version runs between 81-86.

its no classic but its great 80's schlock.

A lot better than the reviewers would have you believe.

The new German DVD of "After Death" by the X-rated label, which was released last month, includes both versions: original version 80:26 min. Pal as well as the export version 88:06 min. Pal. If you consider the Pal speedup the export version should equal 92 min. in NTSC.
Pictures of the extended scenes can be found at:

So no violence was cut on the SS dvd version?

I always liked this film. I don't think it was remarkable, but I did not dislike it.

I saw this many, many years ago. It was a decent rental, but nothing spectacular.

It's most distinctive quality is that it features gay-porn star Jeff Stryker as the lead, acting (for lack of a better word) under the name Chuck Peyton. I remember there being an interview with him on the dvd; it looked like they randomly cornered him in some parking lot to ask questions. He looked like distressed leather. Very surreal.

this will sound ridiculous, but I had 3 different releases of this movie

    1) a VHS release which re-titled it to Return Of The Living Dead Part III (fullscreen, but with more info on top and bottom)
    2) a German release with AR of 1.66 (which wasn't too shabby)
    3) the SS release (which i didn't see yet)

this is quite a guilty pleasure, it's crap in every way and the gore isn't too hot, but it's still damn enjoyable and i must have seen it about 6 times already

it's also the first ever Italian horror movie that i saw (about 15y old), what a way to be introduced :S

Ha! Great description. This is pretty much like every MB/SS interview ever.
