Saw this last night at an early premiere. Great movie and alot of fun however:

If you're looking for a horror movie, you won't find it here. Zombies are a small part of the story here and it's more of an action/comedy than anything else. Also, there's no survival horror element, they seem to be really well off despite the fact that civilization has crumbled. Finally, where are all the zombies? There were less than a dozen of them in downtown Los Angeles.

Those gripes aside, the movie is hilarious. Woody plays the perfect part of zombie killing bad ass and Jesse Eisenburg's usual "fragile Jewish kid" is perfect from a comedic stand point. Also the cameo was fucking amazing. While I don't think it was as good as Shaun of the Dead, it's a whole lot of fun overall and I'll probably pick it up on Blu Ray.

I'll be seeing this opening day as long as AMC doesn't fuck me again like they did with Pandorum.

I didn't read much about it, but I've recently seen the trailer and it looks pretty sweet.

Rotten Tomatoes has it at 100%.

Sure it has only (now 8) reviewers (one being a top critic from Variety), but its a start. :D

Just got back from seeing it. Very fun movie. I did not read about it much so I don't know if it was common knowledge but
the Bill Murray sequence was great. I didn't have any idea he was in the movie.

It started off with a sense of dread overcoming me when I realized that a lot of the movie would contain a VO but it grew on me. Very fun. Very bloody. Really liked the super slo mo credit sequence. Woody Harrelson was hilarious. All in all a fun movie. Highly recommended.

The zombie film genre needed this movie and more movies like it. Zombieland is a great zombie movie that will have you cracking up. I love it when a movie does not need but so many characters to tell a story.

    saw it tonight

    ehhhhh. :sleepy:

    Good:
    1) First half was funny
    2) Characters were mostly likable
    3) CGI effects were pretty good for the most part

    Bad:
    1) Worn out bare bones plot
    2) Not scary in any sense
    3) Some jokes just didn't work
    4) Nothing new to see here...

For me, it didn't provide much more than the trailer let on. It hit all the points, added in some unnecessary teenage love stuff, and then ended. Was hoping for something better for $8. Should have waited to rent.
Dawn of the Dead it ain't.

Wow... This movie was amazing. It's good to see Woody back. A truly great horror comedy...

...and yes, it's better than Shaun.

Good to know, as I've been hesitant to see this for fear that it would be another Shaun of the Dead. I really hated that movie. Anyway, it looks like a Zombieland/Pandorum double feature is in order.
