This thing is gonna be awesome. It has Savini fx footage stuff... just like The Prowler had. That alone is worth the price!

Yep, it sure is shaping up to be a nice disc. A 2-disc set no less. It should make a nice addition to my Romero collection.

has anyone found this disc today?

I am not totally sure when this one is coming out.

DeepDiscountDVD lists it at available today, but Amazon lists it as not out until next Tuesday.

But just to be safe, I hit the Best Buy on the way to work this morning, and I had no luck finding it in stock. So perhaps it is time to work up a new list for a online order. :D

Not me, and I special ordered it from Sam Goody, along with The Crazies, and they're telling me it won't be released till the 29th (next Tuesday).

Is TWO EVIL EYES going to be a longer cut of the film, or is it the same as the old Media VHS?

My place of employment also said it was pushed back to the 29th. Originally it was slated for today though. I can't express how anxious I am to see both The Crazies and Two Evil Eyes.

I need some new stuff. I think I'll be picking this up. It seems like a decent set.

I had no idea that Two Evil Eyes was going to be a longer cut of the film. That is great news.

Of course I was already planning on buying both Two Evil Eyes and The Crazies, but this news only makes me want to get them sooner.

I was at Best Buy yesterday (4/27) and they had Two Evil Eyes.

Did they have The Crazies?

Mortis

Yeah, they had that, too. I had one of those "I wish I had some money right about now." feelings. I hate seeing new shit out and not being able to buy it.

so what exactly is the new/extended footage?

I would probably guess the drying up of Valdemar or whatever his name was. (He kinda deflates) In Savini's Grande Illusions Book 2, there are pics of this. It looks cool, but he said it was cut from the final film. I hope that effect is back in. :)

I checked all the numbers on the TEE DVDs. They were all from the 3000s and 8000s.

Here's my 2 cents on these releases...

I lucked out and had my copies come in last Thursday (04/24/03). We watched THE CRAZIES on Monday and I absolutely loved it!!! This was my first time seeing it and I thought it was a nice addition to Romero's body of work.

The disc looks GREAT. They managed to get ahold of a great transfer with this one. The special features are also quite nice. There's a great featurette about the career of Lynn Lowry.

I watched the film and enjoyed it so much that I started it over again with the commentary on. The commentary features George Romero (of course) and Bill Lustig (of maniac fame). If you've listened to Romero commentaries in the past you'll know what to expect in this one. Two friends sitting around talking shop. Quite insightful at times and quite humorous at others. All in all, a great purchase and a nice addition to my collection.

Lastnight (04/29/03) I got around to watching TWO EVIL EYES. Pretty decent transfer (albeit a bit dark at times) with a decent DTS sound track that doesn't overpower the picture. This also was my first time seeing this film so I was quite excited about seeing this collaboration from my two favorite horror directors.

The Romero piece was kinda slow while Argento's portion was a bit more entertaining in my opinion. No commentary on this one but some excellent special features that more than made up for it. A 30 minute feature about the making of the film bosting recent interviews with Romero, Argento, and Savini. Quite informative and entertaining.

The footage of the walkthrough at Savini's place was shot on old video and the footage was circa 1989 so don't expect anything pleasing to the eye.

There's a few other odds and ends throughout (including an easteregg quickie interview with Christina Romero, George's wife, about her small role as the nurse). All in all a couple of great releases and a nice a nice addition to anyones collection.

I'm quite anxious to see what else Blue Underground does in the future. I've recently picked up their Spaghetti Western Collection but I've not even cracked it open yet. If these disc are any indication though I'm sure they'll be outstanding.

Ok, sorry about the blabbering.

I think these are going to be my next two purchases.

Speaking of The Crazies, is there any cemetery action? I watched the trailer and it says the town is Evans City (the Evans City cemetery is where they filmed NotLD).

Watched The Crazies DVD last night.... it's absolutely perfect, excellent transfer, great sound and fantastic movie - really couldn't fault it at all. Looking forward to checking out Two evil eyes at the weekend.

Now, i wonder if we could just persuade Blue Underground to release an uncut Nightmares in a damaged brain ? ;)

I didn’t know Lustig took part in the commentary. I know sometimes commentaries can be filled with dead space, so I suppose he acts as something of prompter. Also, you know he’s a fan of all the films they release, and I’m sure it’s a joy to include yourself in supplements with the likes of George Romero.

Just finished Two Evil Eyes (#02684) and it was a pretty decent movie. Keitel was great in Argento's segment. "It's a fuckin' cat! MEEOW, MEEOW!" The Savini stuff left me wanting more! (I want Scream Greats on DVD, dammit!):fire:

My discs came in Monday, and I've already watched both. Great job on both by BU, but that's what I've come to expect from them.

Relford, I thought you'd seen TWO EVIL EYES? Oh yeah, its a great film too, not just pretty decent. :p I love the dream scene in Argento's segment where Keitel falls onto the wooden spike. That scene rules!
