What's your favorite 80's tv show? Most of the shows I added ran 2 decades but still were shown in the 80's. I know I missed alot but I had to stop somewhere.

My vote is for Amazing Stories. Damn I wish they would put that series out on dvd.

I voted for Cheers. One of my all-time favorite sitcoms.

I went with Amazing Stories as well. I know that there were a few volumes on laserdisc. I am not sure how many episodes actually got released, but I know I wanted them. The price always kept me from buying them.

P.S. I've got K.I.T.T.'s blueprints if anyone wants them!

Had to go with OTHER. I was such a big Dynasty fan in the 80's. I never missed it. A close second would have been Moonlighting.

In the 80's: Dukes of Hazzard

Perfect Strangers.

Balki Bartokomous and Larry Appleton were hilarious characters to follow throughout the years. Loved it.

I ran out of choices I could include..you can only have 20. Night Court was awesome but I guess that falls under "Other"

I voted "other." Friday the Thirteenth: The Series was awsome and I still watch it when I chance upon it.

Of the shows listed, probably only the A-Team is one I would watch if I chanced upon it. Maybe Alf too, I'm not sure.

Magmun P.I. Tom Selleck was the ultimate pimp in that show. Classic!

As much as I hate to admit it, FULL HOUSE is my favorite 80's show. I do love PERFECT STRANGERS and WHO'S THE BOSS as well though.

I know this show primarily took place in the '90s during much of it's 10+ year span, but it did start out in the '80s: Other: "Married with Children."

Lots of good choices, though. Taxi, Cheers, Family Ties, Alf, Perfect Strangers, Who's the Boss and Mama's Family were and STILL are huge favorites of mine. What about --- The Wonder Years!?! Miami Vice and Roseanne are two others not listed that I highly enjoy.

How about Miami Vice? That sure was a great series. I probably would have picked it if it was on the list.

I wanted to put that on also but I didnt have enough room for every show. The best part of Miami Vice are the two albums the lead actos spawned during the height of the shows run. Phillip Micheal Thomas had the better of the two, according to my older brother.

Didn't Don Johnson do the theme to MANHUNTER? I thought that track was really good.

When I was a child I couldn't get enough of the Dukes! I even had a miniature car! Perfect Strangers was also great - does anyone remembers Mark Linn-Baker in ALIENS? Tales from the Darkside... great show indeed... Well, I voted for Amazing Stories!

I went with Cheers, which is still amazingly funny in the reruns on Nick at Nite.

But had you listed it, I'd have picked Hill Street Blues. I just watched the entire series last year when Bravo re-ran it, and it's still a highly enjoyable show.

Wow John, you ain't kidding. I thought those were "common" titles. I got my Book 2 LD (with Family Dog) for $10 at a Pioneer sale a couple of years ago. The other LDs were the same price. And I'd always see 'em in the racks at the used LD stores.

But I just checked E-Bay and those discs are now going for $30 a pop!! The Family Dog LD recently went for over $40!!
Kinda wish I had picked up some of those discs when they were cheap...

Probably just a few bidding wars going on. I follow those Amazing Stories discs all the time and they don't usually sell for that much. Heck, a lot of times they don't sell at all.

I have a few of the Japanese Amazing Stories discs. They have some episodes that weren't on the US lasers, though you end up with some duplicates too. Someday I hope to own all the discs between Japanese and US lasers. When that day comes, I'm sure a DVD set won't be too far away. :)

My favorites somehow always wound up being the shortest lived. Dark Room, Manimal, V, Misfits of Science, Real American Hero, Slap Maxwell. Probably my favorite was Wiseguy, if only for with the plotline where the bad guy had a major obsession with Mr. Sardonicus.

Israel, Battlestar Galactica was a show from the 70s. What you're probably referring to is Galactica 1980 which was god-awful and thankfully met a quick demise.

I voted for Magnum P.I.. I can hardly wait for this to come out on DVD later this year. I must confess that Mama's Family was a close second.

80s WAS a good decade for television. Cant choose between taxi, a-team and cheers...not to mention knight rider... plus v was amazing as mentioned earlier... ack when did mork and mindy come out!?

i would choose a-team but every episode ended up the same, meet damsel in distress, save some old man and then build some sort of armoured vehicle to blow up the bad guys... altho noone ever died.

havta choose cheers :D
