I'm not too familiar with Pupi Avati (I saw "Zeder" and I'll pick up "The House With the Windows That Laugh"). I was wondering what is considered his best films and whether they're available on DVD.

Those are the only two I know of... Let me just say that Avati is a god! His best is Arcane Enchanter IMO, but its not out on DVD.

I did a search on his films available on either DVD or VHS and the only two genre films are "Zeder" and "The House With the Windows that Laugh". I think that I'll check out a few of his other films because they sound really good.

Mcchrist, where did you see "Arcane Enchanter"? I read up on it and it sounds great.

bootleg, sadly... and a bad quality one too, which makes Arcane Enchanter a bit of a holy grail so to speak if it comes out on DVD.

THE HOUSE WITH THE WINDOWS THAT LAUGH is definitely his best if you ask me, and it is possibly even my favorite Eurohorror film! A fucking masterpiece on all levels! After that, I would have to say THE ARCANE ENCHANTER, which is another stunning Euro epic in my eyes! I hope somebody releases it to DVD soon. :(

I've actually seen a couple of his non-genre films: "Story of Boys and Girls" (1989) and "The Best Man" (1998). Nothing special although worth seeing if you're a fan of Italian cinema in general. I don't know whether they're on DVD. I would love to see "Windows...." and "Zeder".

The Image Euroshock edition of Zeder is OOP. I found a copy a little while back at DVDEmpire. I don't know if they still have any in stock.

Yeah, but the image quality on the Image disc is so bad you might as well get a vhs bootleg... the dubbing was atrocious!

I rented this movie and not expecting much from it , maybe pointless gore or nudity. On my 1st viewing, after the first 15 minutes (which felt like an hour) , I decided to fast foward untill I got to see some action, so I waited and then what happend while it was fast fowarding just got so boring I stopped paying attention for a minute or so and then I noticed it was at the end of the credits and a movie trailer afterwards for the movie Devil Dog : The Hound from Hell came up. I was then dissappointed , remembering the box art which had zombies crawling out from the sewer and streets. I decided to watch it a second time without fast fowarding later that day incase I missed anything , in which I sadly found out I didn't.

The movie is about some guy that guys a typewriter and finds a message in it in which he decides to find out where this came from and what does it all mean. It ends up there are these place where if someone were to be buried in they come back to life and attack the living and a group of researchers are experimenting on. Hours later (as in film time) of boring and pointless dialouge and scenes he goes to the place and finds the researchers killed with some of the worst gore and blood i've ever seen since I was 9 and I went to a halloween party. Then he is runs away and chased off by this slow moving fat man who resembles Rush Limbaugh (I myself would have tried to destroyed it).

This is really a bad film in my opinion (one of the worst) , either horror , suspense , whatever. It makes no sense. The characters are boring , uninteresting , stupid , and can't act. Infact some of the worst acting i've ever seen, everyone seemed bored. The sound is awful most of the time I can't even hear what they are saying. Why anyone , anyone at all (and I thank you people who gave it the review it deserves a bad one) would praise this film or even dare say its scary must haven't seen any horror movies or atleast real ones by Dario Argento , George Romero , etc. . Freddy's Dead is more scary than this, and thats pretty bad.

I think its hilarious someone recommended Warlock: The Armageddon (1993) on this movie's section. One which is nothing like this or has anything to do at all with this film and surpasses it greatly (although not much to surpass). It would be interesting to see both films and compare them. Both awful (ok Warlock 2 wasn't that bad) you have one that actually keeps you up and one that keeps you asleep. "

i saw the north am version on VHS called "revenge of the dead" and the only redeeming quality is some cool music towards the end of the pic

The reviewer obviously doesn't have the attention span for such a film. That's okay because he only rented it to see nudity and violence. "Zeder" may not be a fast paced action film full of blood and tits but I liked it anyway.

I noticed that VideoScreams has "Arcane Enchanter", which can be ordered as a DVD-R. They also have the LBX version of "All the Colours of Darkness", which I'd love to see. I don't have a region free player so I'm tempted. I know that the quality won't be that great, though. Has anyone ordered from them?
