Damn, I hope this sees a R1 release.
This is cool, but the disc is only going to have three episodes. It's a drag when a cool show gets only a half-ass release on DVD. I guess it is three more episodes than before, so I can't complain much.

Holy shit, I never thought I would see the day. I am so all over this when it comes out. Now, if only I could get Friday the 13th the series, I would be in business.
Thanks for posting this.

Oh yeah, a Friday the 13th series release would be great as would Poltergeist: The Legacy. I got my fingers crossed for both.

Fuck yea. I'm all over this, 3 episodes or not. I just hope this means there are more to come. Maybe if it sells well we'll get some season box sets.

That's the reason I got the Transformers Villans DVD... in hopes that seasons would follow... man was I happy (although I still have to get season 2 part 1).

Great news! Just caught it over R2 Project and was going to post it here but I guess you have to be up pretty early to beat you to it. :) Anyway, I noticed that they called it Volume 1 so more episodes are certain to follow.

Nostalgia notwithstanding, I really have no desire to see "Freddy's Nightmares" again.......I thought they were lame back then.....can only imagine how poorly they have aged. "Friday the 13th:The Series" is a different story....I loved the set-up of the show and.....ok.....being partial to redheads, I had a crush on Robey....:)

David Cronenberg directed an episode of Friday the 13th: The Series... Hopefully we'll be able to see it again one day. :)

er...FN is released by Warner, not Universal. 3 episodes per disk is fine given that they're 45 minutes each. I'm just hoping they release the whole lot (we got 16 episodes on VHS from Braveworld), and in the correct order.
I'm a bit puzzled about what they'll do with season 2 if they get that far. Season 2 episodes were twice the length of season 1, at an hour and half each (minus adverts), and the American VHS releases of thse were cut in half. Full versions are very overdue.

22 episodes per season. Englund is in them all, but in most it's only brief appearances as a Narrator or commentator. FN is quite an odd series, the stories are often good, but the terrible production values (especially in the first season) really spoil tme. They're quite fun 'spot the star' episodes too...Look out for Jeffery Combs and Brad Pitt in Season one!
All season 2 episodes are 45 minutes a peice, just like the first season.I know, because i've seen all the episodes.
If they are in order, then we'll get No More Mr. Nice Guy,It's A Miserable Life and Killer Instinct. All good episodes.
For those that want the disc, then I recommend the Cyberhome players. It was speculated that the 402 didn't convert PAL properly, but the www.nerd-out.com/forum has confirmed it does.
As for a retailer to buy it... www.bensonsworld.co.uk is very good.

That's all well and good, but I've got some of season 2 on VHS that I taped off the telly myself, and they all run 90 minutes. And they're not 2 episodes cobbled together, I assure you.

The tapes I have of season 2 episodes are only 45 minutes a peice from the original airings.Odd.
So,Dream Come True and all the other Freddy eps from that season are the same length? The US only ever got the 45 minute eps,at least everyone i've heard from.

re: "The tapes I have of season 2 episodes are only 45 minutes a peice from the original airings.Odd. "
...As are the Warner sell-thru VHS tapes I have, which is why I'm really really puzzled by this. I scrutinised the episodes I have to check if they were 2 cut togehter, but the opening cast credits list people who don't turn up until over 45 minutes as well as those before. Also, if thse were 2 together, they'd have to be made up of 2 part storylines. Are any of the ones you have two parters?
This has been baffling me for a while.
For example, one I have is MEMORY OVERLOAD which is credited with two directors: Don Weiss (I think that's right) and Robert Englund. It starts with a 15 minute bit about an English teacher haunted by his teenage self for 15 minutes, before going onto a related story about one of his students and her job with a computer that's spying on her. If you have the same episode, does it say that on yours? And what happens at the end? Maybe we had extended versions in the Uk or something?:eek2:

I don't have Memory Overload.I have
Dream Come True
Heartbreak Hotel
Welcome to Springwood
Photo Finish
Lucky Stiff
Silence is Golden
Bloodline
Funhouse
Monkey Dreams
Dreams That Kill
It's My Party And You'll Die If I Want You To
only those season 2 eps.
As I recall,Dust To Dust and Prime Cut are basically 2-parters,but were aired a month or so after each other. Both have the same characters and storylines.Interior Loft and Interior Loft-Later are sequels to one other, but don't really have much to do with each other.
There are some recurring characters in a few eps,but no mention of the previous ep they were in.
As for why your Season 2 eps are an hour and a half... I hear the UK airs series like the X-Files with 2 parts as a movie. So,maybe they shot season 2 eps at 90 minutes so they could show them as a movie, and still have room to show the rest of them without shortening the season.Eh... I think I explained that right.
The fact that it was a direct-to-syndication series may have something to do with the oddness of the UK TV versions.I haven't heard of any other DTS series',have you?

I have Lucky Stiff, Dreams That Kill and It's My Party... on the Warner releases, and they're 45 mins.
Out of your list, I have SIlence Is Golden taped, at 90 mins. I'll re-watch mine and check out what happens, then paste a brief sypnosis for comparison. If you could do the same with yours, we may be able to figure out what's going on. I've got Interior Loft as well. I think I've got Interior Loft-Later somewhere, or part of it anyway.
Fart Lighter,re-watched it yet?

I'm up to my eyeballs in problems at the moment, one of which is a new telly with a badly distorted image, so I've not had the chance (plus I hate watching anything on this 'wrap-around' style distortion effect screen). I'll get to you when I can.
