I've been interested in purchasing ADV Films' The Complete Daimajin DVD set, but I have read that this release is edited, and I'm unable to find any information on what possible edits could have been made.
Anyone happen to know?

I've read several reviews and posts regarding this set, and I've never heard of they're being any cuts made.

I own the set and even though I'm no authority on the series, there is some blood and a decent helping of violence in the movies. They do not seem to be missing anything to me.

The only thing wrong with this version is that it's not anamorphic. If I had known that, I would have just settled for my letterboxed vhs cassettes.

I found out why the guy considered it edited:
"ADV replaced the original Japanese opening/closing credits with new cheesy computer generated ones. 'The Complete Daimajin' it is not. R2 DVD set is complete."
So it's no biggie.

Why ask us. Call their Houston office at 713-341-7100 and get the word from the source. Toru Iwakami is the owner of the company and I would ask for him. He speaks good English and calls all the shots. Although he may be in Japan at the moment.
