I found the BLOOD AND BLACK LACE VHS from VCI for only $2. I've never seen the film before, but being a big fan of Mario Bava's films, and a huge fan of Cameron Mitchell, I wanted to see this film.

Is the VCI VHS of BLOOD AND BLACK LACE the same complete and uncut version of the film as the VCI DVD? For $2, it's a great deal, but I just want to make sure that I'm getting the uncut version of the film.

I'm guessing if it was released the same year as the DVD (2000) then it was just a VHS port of it. So yeah, as long as it's a recent release I'm sure it's uncut.

Not that you'll take my advice, but I'd suggest just buying the DVD. This is the best Bava film I've seen to date and the disc has a commentary from Tim Lucas that's chock full of information about the film. There's some interviews and stills as well, if I remember correctly. I got it for $15 at Suncoast, so you could probably find it for a similarly cheap price.

Thanks for the info. The DVD sounds great, but I've only been able to find it for $20-$25 at stores like Best Buy and FYE. I'll have to check out Suncoast to see if it's cheaper.

However, I was glad to find the VHS for such a great price, and seeing the film for the first time, I wanted to make sure that it was uncut.

Quality has a price. You should buy the DVD.
