I haven't been using my player as much lately and was wondering what would be some of the best ways of keeping it going for years to come.

In all seriousness, play laserdiscs!

Regular use will keep everything lubricated and keeps the belts from dry-rotting.

How do you get laserdiscs players serviced? If something were to go wrong, is it easy to find somebody to fix it?

I live in a big city, so I know a couple of guys who do good work on players.

Kurtis Bahr on the alt.video.laserdisc newsgroup is supposedly a LD-hardware god, though I've never dealt with him personally.
