Just found this on dvd drive in web page...
Copied from their page...

Here are the details on MGM's August DVD promotion. All will be released on August 26 and retail for $14.95 each. Lot's of goddies here:

MIDNITE MOVIES:
COUNTESS DRACULA/THE VAMPIRE LOVERS--COUNTESS DRACULA: Letterbox 1.66:1; complete, uncensored British cut; commentary track with Director Peter Sasdy, Screenwriter Jeremy Paul and star Ingrid Pitt; trailer. THE VAMPIRE LOVERS: l.85:1, 16x9; commentary track with Director Roy Ward Baker, Screenwriter Tudor Gates and star Ingrid Pitt; excerpts from "Carmilla" read by Ingrid Pitt, accompanied by stills gallery; trailer. This includes all of the restored footage from MGM's VHS edition, plus the full-frontal nude shot of Ingrid Pitt emerging from the bathtub that has never appeared on any previous U.S. video release! This transfer also corrects a day-for-night scene that was mistakenly presented as "day" on the VHS.

COMEDY OF TERRORS/THE RAVEN--COMEDY OF TERRORS: 2.35:1, 16 x 9; interview with Screenwriter Richard Matheson; trailer. THE RAVEN: 2.35:1, 16 x 9; interview with Director Roger Corman; interview with Screenwriter Richard Matheson; rare promotional record featuring the voices of Boris Karloff, Peter Lorre and Paul Frees; trailer.

THE HAUNTED PALACE/TOWER OF LONDON--THE HAUNTED PALACE: 2.35:1, 16 x 9. New high definition transfer--first home video release in original widescreen aspect ratio! Interview with Director Roger Corman; trailer. TOWER OF LONDON--Letterbox 1.66:1; interview with Producer Gene Corman; trailer. (Note: Director Roger Corman was invited to participate in the discussion of this film, but chose to defer to his brother).

THE TOMB OF LIGEIA/AN EVENING OF EDGAR ALLEN POE--THE TOMB OF LIGEIA: 2.35:1, 16 x 9; two audio commentaries--commentary track # 1 with Director Roger Corman; commentary track # 2 with star Elizabeth Shepherd and film historian David Del Valle (from the Image laserdisc); trailer. AN EVENING OF EDGAR ALLEN POE: 1.33:1 (shot for television).

THE HOWLING: SPECIAL EDITION--1.85:1, 16 x 9; 5.1sound mix; new 48-minute documentary; commentary track from the Image laserdisc; deleted scenes; outtakes; trailer; more.

HORROR PROMOTION:
THE GHOUL: 70th ANNIVERSARY RESTORED EDITION--Karloff fans rejoice! Available for years only in murky transfers made from a ragged, cropped Czechoslovakian print, MGM's new transfer is the first U.S. release utilizing the film's original 35mm elements held by the British Film Institute. Extensive digital restoration was used to remove thousands of instances of film damage and clean up the soundtrack. The result is a transfer of THE GHOUL that looks and sounds better than anything available for 70 years.

RAW MEAT (a.k.a. DEATHLINE)--1.85:1, 16 x 9. Original uncut British version, featuring gory footage trimmed from the U.S. release.

SQUIRM--1.85:1, 16 x 9. New high definition transfer of the original uncut version approved by director Jeff Lieberman. Audio commentary by Director Jeff Lieberman

BURNT OFFERINGS--1.85:1, 16 x 9; audio commentary with Director Dan Curtis, Screenwriter William F. Nolan and star Karen Black; trailer.

CLOWNHOUSE--1.85:1, 16 x 9; trailer

I, MADMAN (a.k.a. HARDCOVER)--1.85:1, 16 x 9; trailer.

ONCE BITTEN--1.85:1, 16 x 9; trailer.

HORROR DOUBLE FEATURES:
POLTERGEIST II: THE OTHER SIDE/POLTERGEIST III--POLTERGEIST II: 2.35:1, 16 x 9. POLTERGEIST III: 1.85:1, 16 x 9. Both films include trailers.

GHOULIES/GHOULIES 2--Both films are 1.85:1, 16 x 9, and include trailers.

TROLL/TROLL 2--Both films are 1.85:1, 16 x 9, and include trailers.

This list has changed a little since I first learned of the August titles, but it still looks very, very impressive. Bravo to MGM for releasing so many great horror titles at once. Looks to be an even more expensive August than last year! :)

One question though...Troll 2...why, God, why? :)

Yeah, I just saw this at the Drive-In too.

I knew about SQUIRM (posted about it a good while back), but not all these others, most of which I also love! Can't wait to snatch these up!

On another note, I have to admit to being disappointed that THE BURNING, DEADLY BLESSING, THE BLOOD ON SATAN'S CLAW, JUST BEFORE DAWN, THE TOWN THAT DREADED SUNDOWN, and FINAL EXAM are still absent, but hopefully they'll get releases soon.

Never seen Clownhouse is it any good? What's it about? I didn't really care for I Madman if it's the same movie I'm thinking about. Did it have some book character come to life and kill people? I can't wait for Squirm, The Howling S.E. and Burnt Offerings though.

Troll 1&2, Ghoulies 1&2, Poltergeist 2&3, Howling SE, Burnt Offerings, Comedy of Terrors/The Raven.......all mine! :D :D

I really hate the TROLL films, so I won't be getting that, but I'll be getting the GHOULIES films as I adore Part 2.

What about Squirm blairmonster? I first saw this at the drivein when I was little and it terrified me:D Ever since then I have loved this weird movie.

Burnt Offerings, Squirm, Raw Meat, The Howling (is it just me, or is it weird that The Howling is a Midnite Movie and not a stand-alone SE?) The Ghoul, and most of the Midnite Movies. May pick up Poltergeist II and III if i'm in the mood. hehe.

I'm glad to see that MGM went with the title "Raw Meat" and not "Deathline". When I originally heard of its inclusion in the Aug. slate, it was going to be released as "Deathline". Looks like they're going with "Raw Meat" though.

Better title. :)

It's about three psycho's who escape from a mental institution, dress up as clowns terrorizing three boys (one with a clown-phobia) who happen to be "Home Alone". Great, scary movie.

Yes! There's some stuff there I've been wanting for years. Can't wait to upgrade my HAUNTED PALACE VHS, as it's got one of the worst p&s transfers I've ever seen. I hope they're all going to turn up uncut. I MADMAN is a real underrated favourite of mine. Hooray. Great going MGM!:) :)

hell ya!

YAY! If there was ever a major studio I could count on for good releases at cheap prices, it's MGM. Ya know, I always thought Return of the Living Dead and Last House on the Left would have fit in nicely with the midnite movies series, but the only thing thats important is that they released them. I love MGM, hopefully they'll add the Burning to that list.

Fuck yea! I've been waiting for another announcement from MGM assaulting us with a whole slew of genre titles. And this years list is just as impressive as last years. I'll for sure have to get:

- Howling: SE

- Poltergeist II/ III

- Ghoulies/ Ghoulies II

- Troll/ Troll II

...... and maybe a few more depending on my cash situation.

Suicide

I'll be picking up at least 10 of those. I was disappointed with only 1 horror Midnite Movie coming out in April, but this certainly makes up for it.

Either way, it's a piss-poor movie. Seriously, it's not very good at all.

Overall, though that list made my jaw drop! The Howling and Squirm are definite must haves, as well as Vampire Lovers. You can't complain about more Vincent Price features either!

i will definately get Clownhouse and I, Madman (ive been waiting to see this again for awhile).

CLOWNHOUSE would be perfect for a behind the scenes featurette, a nice fluff piece about how the actors love the director and especially how the director loves his child star, Nathan Winters. and perhaps a reunion featurette where Nathan and Victor Salva can relive the happy times on and off the set, maybe even show the private home videos of the two with audio commentary.

well, I loved DEATHLINE. Surprised me as to just how good it actually was. I just hope it really does turn up uncut.

Grumble time...No GALAXY OF TERROR or re-issued SWAMP THING...

Any word on non-horror releases for that month?

A month or two back, it was rumored that there would be a double feature with "Last American Virgin" and "Valley Girl" released in August, along with a double feature of the Poltergeist sequels. And since the latter is a definite go...

GHOULIES II rules...I think I will pickup that two disc, even though the first GHOULIES is one of the worst movies ever made. I still have my fingers crossed that MGM will eventually release some of their slashers like THE BURNING and FINAL EXAM. Those discs would have me just drooling! :D
