Romano Scavolini Nightmare is the best.Next to Maniac its my fav slasher of all time. The final 10 mins is the most bloody fx ever put on film.I really hope PP releases it this month, if not im glad to still have my tape to watch.

I'll be calling Program Power next week to get an update for the Mondo Digital schedule. They haven't answered any of my emails, either.
Last time I talked with them (the beginning of January), I let them know I had a one-sheet and several theatrical promo photos for THE REDEEMER, and I let them know I was also in contact with the writer of the film, who has plenty of photos and the original screenplay (including handwritten notes from the producer for needed changes - including a drawing of a hand with another thumb!) After the conversation, I forwarded all the info over to them. They never got back in touch with me. They never contacted the writer.
I'm just as curious as everyone else.

It'd be a shame if because of the lousy sales records of some of there dvds (HANDS UP WHO OWNS A PROGRAM POWER DVD) they had closed down. But I hope thats not the case!

I was really looking forward to Program Power's DVDS of NIGHTMARE, and THE REDEEMER, so I hope that they are both still on the way.
I haven't been able to find any of Program Power's DVDS at any stores as of late, I used to see the SLAUGHTERHOUSE, and EVIL LAUGH DVDS at Best Buy all the time.

I'm looking foward to The Slayer and Redeemer, so it would be a shame if something bad happened to PP.

They're still answering the phones, so they're not gone. My contact there has been busy or out the last couple of times I called, so I haven't been able to get an update yet.

I emailed Scavolini a few months back about the Nightmare release and he denied any involvement in the region 1 dvd. He had pretty much no idea what was goin on with it other than that NIGHTMARES IN THE DAMAGED BRAIN was released in the UK.
Bruce, if you can check more into this and if the rumor that Anchor Bay is now doing the region 1 is true, it'd definitely be appreciated.

Where'd you hear this rumor? It's news to me, but if AB wants to release Nightmare then I'll take it!

I'm pretty sure it was on the fango board. If its true , Id definitely agree because I'd like to see it in a good special edition. Scavolini and the star Baird Stafford (Psycho) would likely be able to partake in the supplements. Thats at least the vibe I got from Romano Scavolini. Baird Stafford has also done some recent interviews, one of which is in Firelight Shocks. Havent read it , but I saw it on the Firelight Shocks website.

OK...that's it...just WHAT in the HELL is going on with Program Power?? Nightmare, The Slayer and The Redeemer were supposed to come out like in 2000, no?! This is absolutely RIDICULOUS...are they outta business? If so, can someone like BU or AB easily snag up these long-awaited favorites?

This is really crazy that a company would do something like this. Most of the time a company will just release stuff, whether it is a good movie or not, with special features or not (Anchor Bay) I owned 2 Program Power dvds in the past (Slaughterhouse and The Bone Yard) and I wasn't too hapy with them. I didn't like the overall movies and both discs were defected. I took them back, and got another copy of each, but the other copy of The Bone Yard was still messed up. I am glad that there is (or was) a company that would release obscure horror movies onto dvd with a load of special features, but, I just don't really like the company or their releases. Maybe I'd be intereted in the Nightmare disc though.
And what is The Reedemer? I looked on IMDB and All Movie Guide and neither had anything about this movie.

The Redeemer AKA Class Reunion Massacre. Cool, albeit weird '70s slasher. The killer in this changes costume after each kill a la Terror Train ('cept it was made a few yrs beforehand.) I love when he dressed as a clown and drowned that one girl in the bathroom sink...creepy.

Oh man, I rented this as Class Reunion Massacre and HATED it. Talk about a stinker of a slasher film (and DULL!).
I heard a couple of months ago that Program Power went bankrupt and is going out of business. If this is true, maybe BU or AB can put out the movies that they were going to put out.I would really like to see The Redeemer on dvd.I saw it at the drive-in in 1978,and it really gave me the creeps.I think it's a very underrated slasher film.It also came out before Halloween and many other slasher films.
