It annoys me that such a classic film went out of print so quickly on DVD...

What do you think the odds are of Anchor Bay ever re-releasing it or maybe even doing a special edition of it in the near future?

I think it's weird how it kinda quietly went OOP. I luckily snagged a copy of it at Border's after I heard it was going. It was a lucky find too, as I had been looking for it for a while. A truly awesome movie. I remember the VHS has a little cover thing you can pull back...ah it was cool. But this isn't helping you any (probably just really pissing you off :D), but I have no idea about a re-release.

It actually reminds me of my story... I went to my local FYE. They had one fucking copy left. Like a moron, I didn't buy it then, thinking that I would just pick it up another time... Lo and behold, I heard that it went OOP, I went back to the FYE to get that last copy, and, you guessed it, they sold it already! :fire: :fire:

This is why they HAVE to re-release it, so this sad incident can stop haunting me. :D :D

I scored one on ebay for $30 not too long ago. I hate the dvd cover. I always loved the original vampire's teeth razor blade MADE IN USA cover. I've been thinking of getting that tattooed on my neck for quite some time.

I probably will have to bid on a copy on Ebay soon enough...

after i heard it was oop i got it off ebay. It just pissed me off because i remember seeing it in stores and passing it up to get something else...and of course it goes oop and is nowhere to be found.

And i would think someone will release it again, but i haven't heard anything.

If Anchor Bay still has the rights it's pretty much guaranteed it'll be released again. They re-issue stuff so often it's not even funny.

I thought this was gonna be about the mythical three and a half hour version of Martin.:( I would kill to see that!
Martin's OOP! This is news to me. Heck, Knightriders is still available and that one had the same street date as Martin. Maybe we'll see a re-release from AB or BU in the future.

Yeah Mark that was my initial thought as well.

Maybe Blue Underground could pick up the rights to this one and give it a SE release. ;)

I e-mailed AB about this last year, and they informed me that they no longer have the rights to Martin.

it is a masterpiece, one of Romero's best.
Extremely bleak and shit-hearted!

Hmmmm......that is interesting. I wander who does?

There's more to the story than what Anchor Bay is saying I bet. There was obviously some reason that they had to pull it as quickly as they did.

I also waited too long to grab the $11.99 copy at Media Play, and am now S.O.L. as well.:(
I figured I'll get a copy sometime, but the cover didn't look that good and I'd been seeing a lot of really shitty horror movies back then, so I didn't gamble on that disc.
Oh well, win some, lose some!
If anyone wants to trade theirs, holla at a cracker!:D
