View Full Version : Scarecrow
Just rented a movie called Scarecrow. I thought it was lousy. It is low low budget & the scarecrow is not scary. Has anyone else seen this? I would not recommend it, not even for a laugh.

Figured it would be lousy. Makes me want to see "Night of the Scarecrow" or even "Scarecrows" from the late 80's.

One of the worst horror films I have seen in years. I can't believe that a piece of shit movie like this can already have a sequel planned. And the worst thing is that it's dedicated to Argento, Fulci, and a bunch of other horror legends. What a joke!

Yep, there truly hasn't been a very good scarecrow movie since the classic TV flick, "Dark Night Of The Scarecrow." Anyone remember this little gem that starred Charles Durning who also starred in "When A Stranger Calls?" DNOTS needs a DVD release in a big way. Hell, it's been oop for years and you'll probably end up paying an arm and a leg for a beat up VHS copy on EBAY. I did, and I regret it since the copy I "won" is pathetic. :fire:
Anyway, I hope this is another DVD release we can all look forward to in the near future.

a classic in my book (in a B movie way) is Night of the Scarecrow. its so stupid i laughed my ass off. the scarecrow looked dumb as all hell and i almost cried laughing when it speaks. i wish they would release it on dvd. i dont care if its barebones...as long as its cheap.

I bought this yesterday because it was cheap (about $5) and has Tiffany Shepis (The Hazing) in it. I'll post my thoughts when I'm done watching it.

Hmmm, me, I love this flick, cheesy as hell with some good gore. I got the video fairly cheap and was amazed. Any flick that has a killer scarecrow (that looks pretty cool) combined with a cover that awesome and a scene where the scarecrow smashes a guy's neck with a shovel and says 'CAN YOU DIG IT?" is welcome in my collection any day of the week. :)

Can't deny the cheese in this one. Had it's fun but also sucky moments. The Rock soundtrack was rather annoying, the final song playing over the end credits was hilarious ... unintentional of course :D
The rest was a mix between "The Matrix and Dario Argento" according to the (French) director
Tiffany Shepis was outstanding as usual though, she kinda made this flick watchable. I think she's a pretty cool actress.

Tiffany is definitely tasty, about the only reason I watched this one in the first place! :blabla:
"The Matrix and Dario Argento" ??? LOL, I guess there was a reason I only fast-forwarded through the special features.

I still own the greek VHS tape. Saw it again today, just out of curiosity. The film still stands up well, right on fceurich39. Very creepy.
Haven't seen Scarecrow though.

This movie cracks me up. Somehow a nerdy kid who is constantly picked on turns into a killer kung fu scarecrow that does back flips and stabs people with ears of corn. Not to mention the special features on this flick are hilarious. The director has no idea what he's doing in making this film and all the actors of the film claim he's amazing.
None the less, I saw the sequel to this instores:

I started cracking up shortly after as the back of the case read "STARRING KEN SHAMROCK!". This film looks to be a classic.

Ugh, the sequel is worse than the first one. Even the following second sequel is a tad better.
