I just finished watching this. I thought the film was really good. Slow and creepy-in a good way.

The disc however was problematic. Anone else own this? The firs problem I encountered occurred during the darker scenes where I would get these faint horizontal lines across the screen. I also had nuerous skips and glitches. as my first copy of this was cracked and a replacement was mailed from england, Ill probably be sticking with it but I woder if others have had trouble with this disc....

I rented the dvd and it would freeze all the time, i`ve since read on the net of other people complaining of the same problems, and that maybe all discs are like this.

I`ll try and find some information about it for you, i would imagine they would have to replace all the faulty discs.

Anyway - I did double bill this tonight with Deathwatch.

I remember at the time thinking it was odd two films with a similar theme were released about the same time. With the distance of time that thought kind of fades a bit. This one is more psychological.

The accents still bother me, and the pay off isn't too great. However, it has some atmosphere, and the basic premise isn't too bad. The DVD looks great too (mine was signed by the Director).

Overall, Deathwatch is more ambitous, and it probably a better film. This is still worth a viewing though.

Maybe I'll watch R-Point tomorrow....

So I just picked this up used in Canada for $5 and noticed that the cover was different from what I've seen. It turns out here in Canada it was released by Kaboom Entertainment. At first I thought this was a bootleg release, but it looks like they are a legit company that puts out a lot of Canadian releases.

I wanted to make sure it is the same as the US version though and it looks like it, other then two discrepancies extras wise. The problem is, some listing mention that the US release has 2 deleted scenes, some mention 3 (My copy only has 2). Also, some sites state it has two short films, "Black Cat", and "The Trick", while some say that it does not (My copy does not have these short films). Can anyone confirm whether their US copy has 2 or 3 deleted scenes, and also whether it has the two short films? I'd like to know whether it's safe to keep this copy or whether I should return it and buy the US version if it is in actuality, superior.

Anyone?

I have the Canadian copy as well which I got for cheap. I would also like to know the differences in the releases.

Well my US DVD from MTI comes with two deleted scenes, making of, photo gallery and Director's commentary. And that's it. No short films or extra deleted scene.
On a sidenote, the Theatrical trailer is 16x9 but the actual movie is only letterboxed. How annoying is that?

Thanks a lot! Sounds like the Canadian edition is the same then, saves me from returning it and ordering it online.
