We have two copies of this at work : http://dvdtalk.pricegrabber.com/search_getprod.php/masterid=111557201/tab_id=4/search=godzilla/ut=400c604795252055 I'm kinda interested in it, but it's only $30 for 5 movies so it seems like the set might be crappy qaulity. Anyone have it, or know anything about it?
The transfers on those DVD are actually WORST than some VHS versions!
They are complete and total shit, even at that price it's a complete rip off!

try to get the Simitar DVDs, they are much MUCH better. you can usually find them on ebay for a decent price, though Monster Zero is usually around $40.

I have not watched these versions yet, but everything that I have read about them agrees with what KR~! and Rxfiend are saying.
They are terrible transfers. If you really want to get them for your collection, hunt down the Simitar versions. They are not excellent, but they are way better than the Sony versions.

I've seen and owned the Simitar versions and they rocked! I've avoided the new sets simply because I've heard nothing but negative comments here and elsewhere, and the fact they've avoided OAR is enough for me to pass on them entirely. I am considering Rodan though, because its cheap and the OAR isn't far enough off to make much of a difference.

i thought the Rodan dvd was decent. granted it's not the same quality as the TOHO version, but for $10, i thought it was worth it. Chances are, we'll never see a better R1 dvd of RODAN (as sad as that is...).
