View Full Version : Worst Slasher Flicks

Here's three of the worst ones that come to mind:

(1) Unmasked Part 25- What a waste! A poor man's Student Bodies that should be avoided at all costs.

(2) Splatter University- The horror, the horror... A waste of celluloid from the Troma team.

(3) The Nail Gun Massacre- Bad, Bad movie that's worth a few chuckles. But the cheese factor soon wears off and you're left with an absolute piece of shit.
Saving graces: Cheesy ass 80's cover art and the killer's voice sounds like a third rate Darth Vader!

Any more?

New Year's Evil. Soooo very very bad. Just another horrible Halloween ripoff.

I really did not like Slaughter High. Some seem to like it, but I just thought it was boring and stupid. My friend and I agreed afterwards that we just wasted our money. We both almost fell asleep it was so boring, and we didn't think the gore was all that great (if I remember correctly). It had an interesting idea, but it seemed too predictable for us (Which is kind of a hypocritcal thought to have after some of the other movies I've seen and watched).

Has anyone seen Blood Frenzy and Iced? Two very cheesy slashers from the '80s that both featured the grown-up Lisa Loring who played Wednesday on the old "Addams Family" TV series when she was little.

How about SAVAGE WEEKEND? Pretty bad...

I've gotta agree with Splatter University, New Year's Evil, and Savage Weekend as being pretty pisspoor. I thought Slaughter High was okay, and at least had some interesting death scenes (bathtub of acid, etc.).

Here are a few more I should mention:

Class Reunion Massacre (a.k.a. The Redeemer) - So cheesy and unintentionally humorous there's no way you can take it seriously.

Don't Go in the Woods - So hilariously bad you must see it to believe it! Just invite your friends over to watch it and you'll have a fun time!

I dont even think that these flicks are WORTHY of being called slasher, so I suppose they belong on the list even more:

Scream 2 and 3 (the first was good for what it was, just not a horror movie)
Urban Legend films
Valentine (so bad I left the theater)
I know how much you sucked last summer... (really sucked, both of them)
Anything else starring the cast of the WB network and/or written by Kevin Williamson.

Sorority House Massacre has to be the worst slasher film ever to come out. Amateur in every way.

Although some members feel the need for pot shots at other members' guilty pleasures, I will not resort to such measures. It's bad enough that Helly listens to Madonna, I wouldn't want him to further feel anguished knowing that a certain other film about Sororities is also well below par. :D :D

Madonna is hotter now, at 40-something than she has ever been, so she does deserve some respect, you're right!

Sorority House Massacre deserves no respect though, I hate this movie with a burning passion. :)

Worst Slasher Flicks: Ressurection.

Anyway:

Slumber Party Massacre 2: "I can't stop...lovin you! I won't stop, till I doooooooo!" Ok....when a killer sings a rock song as he's doing the crip walk to your door....it's a fucked up thing.

Final Exam: Becides a gritty picture, it's not a very good movie. No motive, crappy ending and most of all: terrible acting.

Worst of the worst:

To All A Good Night (1980)
Final Exam (1981)
Trick or Treats (1982)
Movie House Massacre (1984)
Too Scared to Scream (1985)
Edge of the Axe (1987)

After watching Madman this weekend, I have to add it to my list. It is a total setup for MST3000 in almost every scene. I had fun with it, but I think the alcohol and group setting had a lot to do with it.

The Slumber Party series is pretty bad, even by slasher standards :D.

I love almost all slashers, good and bad. The SPM series? The Sorority House Massacre Series? Trick or Treats? Madman? The Nailgun Massacre? Count me the hell in. The few that are so bad I don't even like them are:

1. Halloween Resurrection: There are not enough words for how much I hate this movie.
2. Silent Night Deadly Night 3: What the hell were they thinking?
3. The Last Slumber Party: Seriously, if you aren't tanked and with a crowd of folks, this just isn't watchable. Still, I have the vhs, just in case.
4. I Still Know What You Did Last Summer: I like to pretend it just didn't even happen.
5. Honeymoon Horror :sleepy:

I didn't think Splatter University was the WORST, but definitely not the best. :p

Here's my list of the worst slashers ever (and some of the worst movies ever as well):

The Prey
Slumber Party Massacre 2
Class Reunion Massacre
Final Exam
The Last Slumber Party
Sorority House Massacre
Sorority House Massacre 2
The Mutilator (might have to give a second viewing, tho, it's been a long time)
Halloween 6
Friday the 13th Part 8
Jason X
Return to Horror High
Cheerleader Camp

I might think of more later. :D

C'mon, why all the hatred for FINAL EXAM. Even if you refuse to admit that it is good, you've got to at least give it credit for holding interest. It has some good pranks and a nice ripoff synth score, as well as plenty of lifted shots from HALLOWEEN. Definitely not high art, but far from the worst that the slasher genre has to offer.

Here's where I gotta disagree with you Rhett-- I found the film EXTREMELY boring. Not even enough gore to hold interest, plus the killer has no motive and we never really find out who he is. That might have worked in Black Christmas, but not here... the film is just sooooo.... hmm, I'm falling asleep just talking about it. :sleepy:

Technically speaking, Final Exam is much better-made than a bulk of '80s slasher flicks. The movie is just ridiculously boring - featuring bland characters and dull kills. And I don't mean boring as in "slow" or "talky," I mean just a total snoozer. Unhinged is a pretty slow, talky film but it manages to hold interest (as well as shock and creep me out) . A Night to Dismember ('83) is abnormally bad, shit, even for a horror/slasher movie. But is at least entertaining.

Sleepaway Camp 3, that movie just tops it off in terms of cruddiness. They had something campy and fun with Sleepaway Camp 2 (although I felt it ran a little two short but it was still entertaining), then they just went to something that plain and simple fucking sucked. But it's all in a matter of taste I guess.

How about "The Forest" or "The Final Terror"? Nah "Final Exam" is far from the worst slasherdom has to offer... of course, the whole "grand" output after "Scream" blows as well. And I would love to meet up with the final girl from "Final Exam" - Cecile Bagdadi - oh where is she now?

Anyone remember a certain turkey called Killer Party? Snotty sorority girls throw a party in a dumpy mansion where, brace yourselves for originality, really bad shit once happened. A bunch of 35 year-old actors playing college students in bad masquerade costumes get killed in boring ways. As an added bonus to the routine slasher goings-ons, there's the novelty of the lead virginal girl getting possessed by the ghost of the schmuck killer, complete with cheap white contact lenses, her body writhing up the wall and onto the ceiling, and of course cheesy 80's demonic voice distortion (although it might sound better than transexual Pam Grier does in Escape From L.A. over a decade later!) Anyway, as big of a piece of shit as Killer Party is, I have a soft spot for it... :o

I also really like The Final Terror, despite Adrien Zmed. I think it's got a few really creepy sequences, some great atmosphere, a bit of decent suspense and the image of the killer is genuinely scary. But I also totally understand anyone who thinks it's crap because it is a film with so much missed potential. I do really like the unexpected savagery of that opening sequence, the double killing of the young couple on the motorcycle; it's a great shocker that promises a better movie than is delivered. I still like it though.

Loved The Forest, The Final Terror, Killer Party AND The Majorettes. Final Exam is much worse than all of these. Final Terror is actually a pretty good movie - GREAT cinematography and location, really beautiful I thought. The music is good and quite a few scenes are unbearably tense. The killer wearing that mossy camouflage was a very nice touch. It lacked a bit in the violence/gore department, but I'd still rank it as one of the best of the early '80s slashers. A DVD would be a very welcome treat as my Vestron vhs doesn't have much life left in it...

Bloody Murder 1&2, I love these movies, but I must admit, they are absolutely horrible... on a scale of 1 to 10, 2 and 1 being so horrible it's funny, 0 being so horrible it's not funny, these movies come in at a -4, so horribly not-funny that it's funny...(in other words, these movies come full circle)

I loved a lot of these movies, I guess I'm a sucker for bad 80s slashers, but that slasher revival with all the scream movies and I know what you did last summer, urban legend, ect. I hated them all. Even scream wasn't that good. The worst has to be I still know what you did last summer, also one of the worst titles of all time. The Urban legend movies had an original Idea (well, as original as you can get with a movie made entirely from cleche's) I just don't think they did it right.

EDIT: okay, I am a sucker for the cheese value of these movies, I do realize they are bad, so don't give me a hard time about it
