Well, months and months ago someone on this site told me to buy this disc. I finally did. Then some more months went by before I actually sat down and viewed it.

And what a treat it is. Chris Lee in what has to be his best Hammer performance, an engaging little story, and a teenie bit of gore.

Wonderful film then - if you're into Hammer, get it.

Rasputin is great! I think storywise, the movie is a bit hokey, but Lee really carries it off!

Lee really shows his acting ability here though. More so than any other Hammer I can recall.

The character does really allow Lee to move from one acting extreme to the other, and he handles it exceptionally well. This truly is one of my most favorite Hammers. http://www.horrordvds.com/vbulletin/images/icons/icon14.gif

I was a bit slow to warm to Rasputin. Second time I saw it I really loved it though.

Who the hell was it on this board that nagged me to get this one? I honestly can't remember - I just know it came up a few times, and I finally relented. Glad I did too.

It's an odd little Hammer film, to be sure. In a fight, I think Resputin would have kicked The Mummy's ass.
