What scene in any film, horror or non-horror, made you jump the most? I mean REALLY make your heart race and actually scream something out? Might wanna do spoiler tags depending on the movie you pick.
For me it would be Exorcist 3: The scene in the hospital where the night nurse checks on the patients then walks back toward her desk....and that patient with the sheet on suddenly appears with those HUGE shears!! Good god that made me nearly piss my pants!
The entire "The Eye" was preety jumpy.
"Why are you sitting in my chair? WHY ARE YOU SITTING IN MY CHAIR?!?!"
Then I suddenly smell piss...

The blood test scene in John Carpenter's "The Thing"
Gets me every time.
Agree,
that scene is "The Jump Scene".

The beheading in Phenomena.
The scene in the hallway in SHOCK, where the little kid runs down the hall and jumps up as a fall grown man.

The head popping out of the wrecked ship in JAWS and Leatherface jumping out of the record vault in TCM2 always make me jump :nervous:

The voice in KAIRO/PULSE which whispers. If you have seen it, you now what I mean. Offcourse it helps if you´re listening through some decent speakers ;)

SaviniFan's hit the nail on the head with Exorcist III. This is the best "BOO!" scene ever, IMHO. The slow build is simply exquisite and the pay-off is awesome.
The scene in Audition with the bag suddenly lurching in the background was also memorable - a real gut-wrench of a shock.......

The double "waking from the nightmare" scene in Carpenter's In The Mouth Of Madness with the rotting cop was almost as good the blood test in The Thing! I know it's coming and I still jump, the first time I think I literaly got air!

Agreed with dwatts...the hallway scene in Shock reduced me to tears out of pure terror! God, I love that movie!
Some other good ones:
The Thing - the bloodtest of course
Alien - The scene where Tom Skerrit is hunting the alien in the airshafts. Gets me every time!
Tenebre - When the detective bends down and reveals Anthony Franciosa standing behind him. Yikes!
and one that I just saw last night:
Rose Red - When the old woman with the big glasses goes to get some Ice Tea (????), and shines the flashlight out the window. Eeep!!!

Mine is the same as SaviniFan. No matter how many time I see it I near shit myself. The other one that continues to make me jump is the blood test in The Thing.

For yours truly, it's definitely a most memorable scene from the British film, "The Woman In Black", which is one of the finest and most disturbing ghost stories ever, IMHO. For those of you who've seen this, I'm sure you know which scene in particular I'm referring to. If you haven't seen this excellent film yet, call in sick today and rent it immediately.

anyways, back on topic .....
This sounds stupid but Eight Legged Freaks made me jump alot. Those spiders were so damn fast. They just jumped in a scene and attacked people in a split second. This was of course complimented with sharp loud bass to scare you even more :). I jumped at least 5 times in that movie. Love it when that happens. It's not talent on the directors part but I still love it :)

One of the few jump-scares to still get me is Leatherface's first appearance in the radio station in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Part 2.
I won't spoil how it occurs, for anyone who hasn't seen it, because it's a doozy! Gets me every time, even though I know it's coming!

What about the scene in THE CHANGELING when
The cop is killed at the same time the spirit smashes the window. It's too creepy. The silence then BAM! The broken windshield and the blood on his face...

Tenebre's ending just came out of no where.
Also, a nice jumper was in Dead and Buried (while the movie's fresh in everyone's mind) They find George's (Freddie's) body, and when they think he's dead, they touch the corpse and it screams. Very suspensful.

I have to say the Exorcist III, Audition, and the Thing have my votes for all the reasons mentioned above. Call me stupid but I think the Exorcist III is the best one in the series. I've shown this one to a couple of people, and every time that scene comes up it always gets a reaction. God I love that movie- George C. Scott is the MAN!
Audition was great simply because you don't expect that shock- comes sompletely from nowhere.
And I personally don't like the Thing that much. However, the first time I watched it I did in fact nearly crap myself at the scene mentioned.
I did think Frailty had a really good shock scene that ranks right up there, but since I don't know how to do the spoiler tags I won't give it away. How do you do that, anyway?

Darkness Falls is the new king of making me jump. Holy shit was the audio fantastic. I have never jumped like that before. The opening 5 minutes did it and last 5 as well. Damn fine movie. Anyone who has a Digital 5.1 setup MUST watch this in the dark volume cranked! Oh, a blunt would help too .. if you're into that :)
