Read this on a couple of forums, and from Dark Horizons.

Alien Quadrilogy (DVD): Some exciting disc news today for fans of great sci-fi. DVDBoxOffice.com has details on Fox's Alien Quadrology set which has set a tentative release of November 11th, and what's coming sounds quite cool. You will be able to play both the theatrical version and James Cameron's 'Special Edition' version of "Aliens", the former of which has never been released before on this format (only the SE has been available). "Alien Resurrection" will feature an alternate opening and ending (incl. crashdown on Earth), and biggest news of all is David Fincher's unreleased full 170 min original version of "Alien 3" will be here - almost a full hour longer than the theatrical print. The ninth disc in the set will include "Alien Legacy" Documentary, "Alien Evolution" BBC Documentary, Darkhorse Alien and Alien vs. Predator comics, and the complete collection of Laser Disc features which weren't on the previous DVD box-set. Thanks to 'The Fatfish Returns'.

I thought Alien was going to be longer also? Like the maggot scene.

I had read the rumor about Alien also. But perhaps they are only going to include it as a deleted scene.

I am starting to look forward to the 170 minute version of Alien 3.

Since it is not going to be out for almost 5 months, a lot of things could change. We might even get the maggot scene after all.

The set sounds awesome but I already have the Alien Legacy set. I might have to go for the expensive upgrade since I love the series (well, #2 wasnt't that good).

I wonder if yet another box set will get released when the next Alien movie gets released to DVD and when Alien vs. Predator finally comes out.

Man, I wonder though if any of these are going to single-disced? I only really care about Alien 3. Well, okay, some extra bits of Resurrection would be nice, but let's face it, this box is not going to be cheap.

Will the HR Giger doc be included?

It was only released, as far as I know as part of a special Alien LD box set.

Still haven't watched my Alien Legacy box. At this rate, I'll be selling it off unviewed to subsidise my purchase of the Quadrilogy set....:(

The current Alien boxsets are getting pricey on ebay, if you're gonna un-load em, do it soon before mass promotion of the Quad set starts. They are bound to drop like a rock after the word is out on better discs coming.
I still think I'm gonna hold on to my box. The embossed Alien on the box itself is just too cool to get rid of. Maybe I'll sell the discs individualy and keep the box. Hey, that's a good idea, can't believe I didn't think of it until just now!
Of course I am a completest dork, so I probably won't.

Looks an awsome box set, but is it the last one. Some how I doubt it.

Well, hopefully they release all the movies singular. I already have the first and second movies and I'd only be interested in 3 and 4. I'm not gonna buy the box set as I'm happy with the initial releases of the first 2 films.

I just hope for an official version of this to be included.

I didn't buy the 1st set, I love the movies, so I get the feeling I will be getting this one.

I just want one and two, but if they give me a lot of extras, I may just get it. A lot depends on the price. Less than a hundred sure, more than that, hell no.

Price hasn't been annoucned yet has it? I bet it's right around $100 (probably in store price, SR will be a bit more).
Gonna be sweet. I really want to see the theater version of Aliens again, I remember the pacing was so much better in that. I don't think the current dvd chapter stops are set up to skip the extra footage.

your probably right. of course it will be alot more expensive here in canada, well as far as exchange rate is concerned. but I dont care how much it is, I dont have any of the alien dvd's or boxes so this set is perfect for me

Well if you think about it, the discs on their own wouldnt get more than a $30 retail (they aren't extremely special or anything), so the box probably wouldn't retail for much more than $120 - there is a bonus disc but they usually give you deals anyway (like the NOES box set is $90, but the discs are $15 on their own...15 x 9 = $135...). I think we'll be able to get it for under $100 online, but that's just my theory.

I don't see it being more than $100 US but in Canada thats about $130 or so right now but the exchange rate is very good right now so it could change later. It doesn't matter i'll pick it up at any price.:nervous:
