1.) Watch is alone
2.) Watch it in the dark at night
3.) It is VERY low budget so get over that and try not to make fun of it for some things will/do come across as a bit cheesy.
4.) Post back here in this thread as to what you make of it after you watch it :)

don't expect a better follow up.
I'd say prepare to see Evil Dead 2 next because you'll probably love the first one.
I'll swallow yer soul!

Free your mind. Just watch it alone. Don't pass judgement. It's a gore lover's dream.

What a touching moment! ;)
I barely remember when I watched it for the first time other than it scared the shit out of me back then...must have been mid 80's.

The only post I was able to read before I saw the film was the reply from ZombieFan.
I saw the Elite verison and the movie is just a bloody classic. One of the best horror movies I have seen period.
This was my first Bruce Campbell movie. And he really is The King in Horror movies. I loved the way in ending were he gave a girlis kind of a scream, I just brusted out laughing. I always thought he dies because I saw this one clip and which pointd out of him standing out of the cabin after he fought the deomns. I guess I was wrong.
But what has happened to Sam Rami. He has left the horror genre and gone off doing SpiderMan. Now that's a true case of a sell out. He could have done more great and scarey horror movies if he had stayed. Oh well.
Anyways, Overall :

Uh, he did "TheGift".
I thought it was ok if not for the distractingly retarded Keanu.

I loved The Gift, and Keanu actually surprised me. He plays a mean-assed redneck fuck perty good.
The movie to me felt kinda like a cross between a Twilight Zone episode and one of Moore's Swamp Things... but, you know, without the monster. ;)

Raimi and crew always loved comedy, they technically "sold out" when they made a horror movie since they knew that would bring in the money. So I fault Raimi not one bit.

Wow that was the first time you saw the evil dead.
I'm getting teary eyed. I wish i could go back and experience that all over again.
