The fantasia is back this year at my city.

http://fantasiafest.com/2003/en/films/film_index.php?lang=en

There's quite a few movies I want to go see. I'm thinking of checking out Ichi The Killer (http://fantasiafest.com/2003/en/films/film_detail.php?lang=en&id=1198) and The Eye (http://fantasiafest.com/2003/en/films/film_detail.php?lang=en&id=1238)

JEEPERS CREEPERS 2 is also screening, but I'm reluctant to go see that movie considering I never liked the original. Any other Asian recommendations/Must see movies please post here.

Wow...VERY good list of movies there! Definitely check out BUBBA HO-TEP and THE EYE, if you get the chance......

The most intriguing film on that list, to me, is 36TH CHAMBER OF SHAOLIN, the classic Shaw Brothers production, which is touted as having a restored 35 mm print! Now, 36thCOS was released on dvd under the title of MASTER KILLER, and the print used for that dvd release is, without question, one of the WORST that I have ever seen. If you have any interest at all in classic martial arts films, then you HAVE to see this restored, on the big screen.

IF you have time, and you're a fan, be sure to check out COWBOY BEBOP THE MOVIE:KNOCKIN' ON HEAVEN'S DOOR. Yeah, the R1 dvd release has been out for about a month now....and basically, it's just an extended episode that pales in comparison to some of the episodes in the series, but it still has its moments, and it's great to see all the characters up on the big screen.

I've been wanting to go to Fantasia for a few years now, since I only live 4-5 hours south of Montreal. But since our first born is due, like, tomorrow, I think it's going to have to wait for another year. Damned great list of movies though!

Weee!! I am only like 7 hours from there. I will have to go check out Ichi The Killer and Beyond ReAnimator for sure. :)

Can't forget that the ultra cool looking Australian Zombie movie is also showing at Fantasia this year as well. Looks damn slick if you ask me :D

I've been waiting to see Undead forever, glad to see its getting screened somewhere.

I'm not a big fan of martial arts flicks, but 36th Chamber is easily one of the finest films ever made. I'd kill to see that on the big screen.

Yeah. A couple of us are going. We're in Toronto so it'll be a little bit of a drive. I'm fearing the not knowing any French part. Really looking forward to seeing Beyond Reanimator. Still gotta get the tickets for the films we are checking out.

I will be seeing about 20 films this time. I consider myself lucky to have the time this year to do this. I'm looking forward to many films. I'm seeing three tonight: "Undead," "2LDK" (Japan), and "Ichi." I'm looking forward to Stuart Gordon's "King of the Ants" tomorrow.
