I just got some official confirmation that Phenomena will be released from Germany's Dragon Entertainment. Like the other Argento DVDs it will probably have an english language track and it'll be region 0. The best thing about this release is the fact that it's the integral version. FULLY uncut! This is really exciting for me b/c I haven't seen the extra 5 minutes. Let's hope the 2-disc part is true and this will be the definitive version.

NTSC or PAL?

Not sure, it's region 0 and that's the only info I have about the format. It'll probably be the same as the Demons 1 and 2 releases.

Phenomena is one of my favorite movies, but unless Jennifer Connelly will be hand delivering this movie, I doubt I'll spend the extra $$$ on an import just for the additional 5 minutes.

To be fair though, my copy is the original Roan LD, which Anchor Bay just ported, and I've heard numerous complaints about that DVD locking up. My LD plays fine, the picture is surprisingly good for that older format, and the new 5.1 remix is great too.

Yes, it is good news, but there's a lot more other movies I want to buy for the first time, before I buy Phenomena for the second time.

More news! The second disc is extras and contains 2 hours + of interviews!!! This sound so awesome, I can't wait for the release.

Where exactly can you buy R0 Dragon discs from online? I've never seen any of their titles at the major stores. I imagine Sazuma must have them (if there web site actually ever works), but I live in Australia, and the cost of importing the disc from somewhere in europe via the USA works out pretty expensive.

The only US places you could try would be Sight & Sound or Laser Exchange. If you don't see the title online try emaling them about it.

Man, they has to be a better way. One of these guys actually charge US $29.95 for the Canadian Black Christmas - anyone could go buy it for about U$15 from A&B Sound... That is not right.

I will do some digging and let everyone know what I find...
