The Thing

I just got done watching this movie as it is a big fave of mine and I watch it alot. Well, I was thinking about how the different people got um "infected" persay by the Thing. I figured out that it was probably Norris who's silhouette we see when the dog enters the room while "Supersticious" is playing. I can't figure out though when Palmer and Blair were infected. Maybe it's just one of those things that are supposed to be left unanswered. And lastly, I'm still debating whether Childs is the thing or not, most signs and opinions that I've heard point to yes though. Whew. I'd like to hear other's thoughts on this.

A group of guys working in the Artic for who knows how long. I think it's pretty obvious how it was being spread.

im sure its something thats purposely left unanswered... and as for the silhouette.. well i wouldnt put much into that.. i mean look at sleepaway camp.. you see the killers hands during some of the death sequences.. but they say in the commentary that they actually used one of the other actors hands for it..

A lot of people mention at the end when Childs and MacReady are sitting there, Childs' breath doesn't show in the cold, but MacReady's does. This was also said to be due to the lighting/filming/whatever, but it's still a thought.

It's a very fun game, although I haven't had a chance to put a lot of time into it. You can get it fairly cheap now too. Probably less than $30 now.

The silhouette did look a lot like Norris though, with the puffy rounded hair and shit. I never noticed not seeing Childs' breathe at the end, but am not sure if he was infected or not (Carpenter says on the comm. he doesn't even know! The comic book series played off of him BEING the Thing though, so it's one of those questions that will never be answered for sure.) I like to think he wasn't, but even if he was it doesn't distract me from thinking it's the best horror movie ever!
I'm sure Norris went out and got Blair sometime during his stay in the cabin (probably right after the scene where Blair had teh noose set up, if he was infected he wouldn't kill himself or even think of it). As for Palmer getting infected, I'm really un-sure of that one. maybe he passed out while getting high and Childs did infect him, but that was before the "blood test" that Childs passed. Maybe Childs got bored and went to get a drink after getting high, and Norris slipped in and infected Palmer.
