Hey - does anybody know whether the Image disc of Zeder is uncut? I have a vague memory of reading that maybe it IS cut, and now I'm just befuddled.
...If it IS cut, is there another R1 (or 0) NTSC disc that's not?

Thanks! :D

I don't know for a fact, but midnight video (www.midnight1.com) states that the movie is uncut, only the quality stinks. I don't know much about this movie, but when it comes to what is and isn't cut, midnight video is usually the utmost authority (see some of the anally miticulous break downs of films like "return of the blind dead" and "vampyres" on their website. )

its uncut, but it has alot of problems with it. The DVD is P&S, it is horribly dubbed, and the quality absolutely stinks. This has to be the worst I could think of done to a Pupi Avati film because it is almost unwatchable, in fact it is unwatchable. Zeder is a wonderful movie, but I couldn't get through the DVD. Hell, the 5th gen bootleg that I have of it is a far better print, and I watch it all the time.

There IS a restored Region 2 disc of ZEDER from Italy that I hear is supposed to be quite good, and features English audio to boot.

I think it's because the DVD-R's aren't mass produced. I agree that they are expensive, though. However, I would consider getting titles that have no hope of being released on domestic DVD. For example, uncut versions of Doriana Grey and Female Vampire. I wish that they had the means to add multiple language tracks because I prefer films in their original language.

Zeder is supercool. I caught a cinema screening in London a few years ago!
I love the score!
Pupi Avati rules.

I have the Image Entertainment DVD and the Italian DVD. I guess the versions are the same, but the Italian disc has superior picture and sound quality and is 16 x 9 enhanced.
Forget the Image disc!
Buy both HOUSE WITH WINDOWS THAT LAUGH and ZEDER in www.dvd.it
You won't regret it.
Two terrific movies, imo.

just in case anyone tries to search for 'HOUSE' under that title, you wont find it.
you'll need to search under "La Casa Dalle Finestre Che Ridono"
